Charles Barkley calls out politicians for stoking racial tensions: 'They divide and conquer'

Hall of Famer Charles Barkley is known for his outspoken opinions, whether it's about basketball or politics. During CBS's broadcast of the Final Four on Saturday, he fired off a stinging critique of American politics, accusing lawmakers on both sides of the aisle of trying to "make the whites and Blacks not like each other" so they can stay in power. "I think most white people and Black people are great people. I really believe that in my heart," Barkley said. "But I think our system is set up where our politicians, whether they are Republicans or Democrats, are designed to make us not like each other so they can keep their grasp of money and power. They divide and conquer."

CNN believes fonts are racist.

"For years, the West has relied on so-called ‘chop suey’ fonts to communicate ‘Asianness’ in food packaging, posters and ad campaigns. But such fonts perpetuate problematic stereotypes," to accompany a report examining the theory.

The report, "Karate, Wonton, Chow Fun: The end of 'chop suey' fonts," urges readers to close their eyes and imagine the font they’d use to depict the word "Chinese."

"There's a good chance you pictured letters made from the swingy, wedge-shaped strokes you've seen on restaurant signs, menus, take-away boxes and kung-fu movie posters. These ‘chop suey fonts,’ as American historian Paul Shaw calls them, have been a typographical shortcut for ‘Asianness’ for decades," reporter Anne Quito wrote.

Quito then explored the history of the fonts and how they have evolved.

"It's hard not to cringe at the Chinese stereotypes bundled up with each font package -- especially when seen through the lens of today's heightened vigilance toward discrimination and systemic racism. Critics believe that using chop suey typefaces is downright racist, particularly when deployed by non-Asian creators," she wrote before struggling to find examples of White politicians using the fonts.

"The left’s and the media’s embrace of racial apocalypse, both in the US and in Britain, remains sadly selective. The recent Atlanta murders, given exhaustive coverage, appear to be the product not of Trumpista brownshirts but a singular, screwed-up madman. Meanwhile, attacks on Asians historically have come in large measure from minorities, largely African Americans. The most recent attack on Capitol Hill came not from Trumpistas but a follower of the ultimate anti-white, Louis Farrakhan."

"The same media that hypes anti-Asian violence by whites usually ignores that by other ‘people of colour’. When the perpetrator is a Muslim jihadi, as was the case in Colorado, coverage has been less, even if the body count was twice as high. The ‘people of colour’ solidarity that bleeds over the pages of mainstream media has little room for nuance. It tends to ignore the fact that many Asians, and many Hispanics, oppose such things as quotas to selective high schools and colleges."

What does this have to do with Charles Barkley comments?

If you want to rant and rave start a thread and take your little buddies with you. I know because a Black Man ( in much more intelligent manner than you ) has spoken about this subject it obviously bothers you, and in reality he makes far more sense and is much more eloquent than you are also.:)

First off....Rude.

Secondly if you actually read the article it has everything to do with your post. The whole article is about the media & left trying to stoke up racial tensions between certain groups.

Your post says :-

Which is exactly the same point the article I posted is making.

So what's your problem?

The. Comments posted in the OP of the this thread and the article posted there are positive and they identify the fault of Americas problems lay with our entire political system ( Both Parties are equally responsible). On the other hand your posted article is based on blaming a single Political Party ( Democrats / Left ) along with making off color statements concerning minorities across the United States. Now, it's very clear you believe or can't even understand that, and that's because those who think that way are unable to see the hate in an article like the one you posted and that is very sad! :(

In addition I did a little Factcheck on your source and it obvious what your political affiliation is and the type of information that publication intentionally sensationalizes.

Spike online uses media sources that are moderately to strongly biased toward conservative causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports and omit reporting of information that may damage conservative causes. Some sources in this category may be untrustworthy. See all Right Bias sources.

Oh and by the way, the fact that you think the Ann Frank thread is funny, only proves further how you feel.

My friend I was very clear, those who think in that manner are unable to see that those statements are off colored, look up the term if you really don't know what it means.

My friend denial is not a river in Egypt:)
