Ilhan Omar says it’s ‘shameful and unacceptable’ for Biden to continue building Trump’s wall

Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar said President Joe Biden’s plan to continue the construction of Donald Trump’s wall on the Mexico border was “shameful and unacceptable”.

In the strongest criticism yet of the president’s immigration policies among her fellow “squad” members, Ms Omar made the comment following reports Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas may green-light construction to plug “gaps” in the current wall.

It shall be the policy of my Administration that no more American taxpayer dollars be diverted to construct a border wall.

They have building the wall for decades. Trump's big mouth is why it didn't get built. Now watch Biden get more done without braying about it.

But he's already promised the American People that he would stop building it ?

He is stopping the use of Trumps emergency funds. However if he continues with other funds, well, he is a lying politician. Nothin new here, lol.

I say good. The fewer holes the more likely they'll come across legally.

Sleepy has probably had  a reminder  from the new Texas HQ that  he  is only nominally in charge for a few more weeks  and  must not rearrange key  US furniture without the bosses full approval .

You can imagine how  Justice Democrat  Comrades , Saikat Chakabarti, Zach Exley and Cenk Uyghur reacted to the news after they finished rehearsing AOC for her next week's media shows .

President Biden signed an executive order Feb. 4 revoking the historically low cap on refugees and other related restrictions put in place by his predecessor, former President Donald Trump, and pledged to raise that limit to 125,000 a year.

But he "has yet to do one thing that would make all of those changes official: sign what is known as a presidential determination," The Washington Post reported Sunday.

Until he does, Trump's cap of 15,000 refugees in the 2020-21 fiscal year will remain in place.

Arizona Daily Star: Arizona's attorney general files suit, tries to force resumption of border wall construction.

Republican Governor is using a Democrat trick used far and wide under Trump... Suing the federal government over an executive order.

Quote

In a new lawsuit, Brnovich said the National Environmental Policy Act requires the federal government to conduct a study to determine the effects of any change in policy. But he said the president, in halting wall construction and scrapping the “remain in Mexico” policy of the Trump administration in handling asylum requests, ignored that law.

Brnovich said these changes not only have an immediate impact, such as more trash left by migrants in the desert, but will mean more people in this state and this country. And he said there is clear precedent that any change in policy that affects population must first be studied.

President Biden will limit the number of refugees allowed into the United States this year to the historically low level set by the Trump administration, walking back an earlier promise to welcome more than 60,000 people fleeing war and persecution into the country.

NY Times

President Biden, who as a presidential candidate pledged to increase the number of refugees resettled in the United States, is issuing an emergency presidential declaration that keeps the number of refugee admissions for fiscal year 2021 at 15,000, the same level set by the Trump administration last fall, the White House confirms.

The White House has been under increasing pressure from refugee advocates and congressional Democrats to make good on a campaign promise to raise the number to 125,000.
