Here's How the Nazis Put the First Rocket into Space

While the rocket couldn't reach orbit, it could, technically, carry a human being into space on a suborbital trajectory, however, the program was cancelled before a human test flight was made. So did Nazi Germany actually send the first Rocket into space, well the answer is yes they did. National Geographic explains "the Federal Aviation Administration, the U.S. Air Force, NOAA, and NASA generally use 50 miles (80 kilometers) as the boundary, with the Air Force granting astronaut wings to flyers who go higher than this mark. Using NASA's own figures, the first artificial object to enter space was in fact a piece of Nazi engineering. This occurred on the 3rd of October 1942, when a German V-2 rocket reached an altitude of between 52-55 miles (85-90 kilometers) above the Earth.

Impressive, but whether or not you would classify this as reaching space depends on where you define space as starting. If you prefer the 62 miles (100 km) limit, then later vertical V-2 tests in June 1944 (notably MW 18014) would claim the accolade.

You might take time to look at the hard  evidence that the Nazis  also exploded two Atomic bombs pre Hiroshima and that it was only the transfer of enriched uranium from them to the Manhattan project that enabled any "American" bomb to be dropped as early as it was .

With the German ' Rocket Men' being taken in as a priority by the US ( see Paperclip) it gave the US their basis for miracle technological revolution of the 50s and 60s ,  but unwittingly allowed the FourthReich to start taking control of the US military and industrial complex , initially through the CIA and then NASA  where key ex Nazis soon ran matters .

A very interesting perspective on what might really have happened , which becomes staggering once you see the support evidence .

Of course Americans in particular  and understandably only want to label such matters as CT .However , hard facts indicate otherwise .

What hard evidence ? I have only seen hearsay and conspiracy theories.

and that it was only the transfer of enriched uranium from them to the Manhattan project that enabled any "American" bomb to be dropped as early as it was .

Germany had only small amounts of enriched uranium and no plutonium. The vast majority of the uranium ore used in the Manhattan project came from a stock of Belgian uranium that happened to be stored in a Staten Island warehouse when the war started. Yes really. It was enriched at a huge facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The Germans had no such facility.

Neither NASA, nor the CIA, are part of the military. Its true that operation paperclip was real, but many of the advances in the 50's and 60's were in electronics and nuclear technology, which were areas where the allies were allready ahead of Germany.

What hard facts ?

There are none the Nazis were trying to build a reactor, because the by product of spent uranium is Plutonium. However, they never even had the ability to produce enriched Uranium, because they did not have the Gas Defusion Centrifuges to refine it. The other statement that the US stock pile of refined Uranium is also another Conspiracy Theory and nothing more. They did have more than a ton and half of unrefined uranium. To fuel their reactor they melted the Uranium into one inch cubes and they hung it from the lid of their reactor. Now the problem that they had was first to combine enough cubes to begin a reaction, and second the cubes had to be combined in just the right configuration for the react to take place. By the time of the German surrender in 1945, they had never figured out the proper configuration so the project was a complete failure.

The only thing that remains are some of the one inch cubes of Uranium, it estimated that there may have been close to 800 cubes, however, only a small number were recovered, and since they were not enriched they real posed no danger anyway.

Here is a link that explains this in more detail.  https://www.forbes.com/sites/kionasmith/2019/05/20/the-search-for-lost-nazi-uranium/?sh=6434c0e637e5

Here is part of  the Oak Ridge enrichment facility:

Here is part of the Hanford reactor site where they made plutonium:

This is the Los Alamos facility where they designed the bombs:

@Luiza22 can you provide images of their German counterparts ?
