Ohio voting on becoming another 2nd amendment sanctuary state

I couldn't find the previous thread of the first state that did this. But just like predicted, more states are going to be following suite in that same way that their were sanctuary cities for immigration.

Quote

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKBN) – Ohio could become a Second Amendment Sanctuary State if House Bill 62 were to become law.

That would mean federal regulations on guns wouldn’t apply here.

A similar bill is in the works here in Alabama.  Technically, the above quote isn't accurate.  The Federal law would hold supreme BUT no effort would be made to ENFORCE that law in the "sanctuary" states/counties.  IOW, if the Feds want the guns, hi-cap mags and so on, THEY have do their own door-kicking.  Local PDs, Sheriffs or even State police are legally bound NOT to help them and can face legal consequences if they choose to do so.

You know I don't think they would even bother, since any state with a 2nd amendment sanctuary could take it to the supreme court and probably win. State rights and all.

Not only that it defeats the purpose. On this occassion I agree. Seems like a waste of time and money.

It’s all about the optics, the Federal mob can go “LOOK! we’re being proactive on gun control! BOOYAH we’s the greatest” while the state job can go “WE’VE TOLD WASHINGTON TO JAM IT!! we’re the greatest!” and nothing changes. Whichever side someone is on, they get a win and a loss, they get to feel like they’ve succeeded or are about to succeed if not for those damn interfering kids whoever disagree.
The story changes and the ending remains the same.
