Hubble views a dazzling cosmic necklace

The interaction of two doomed stars has created this spectacular ring adorned with bright clumps of gas—a diamond necklace of cosmic proportions. Fittingly known as the "Necklace Nebula," this planetary nebula is located 15,000 light-years away from Earth in the small, dim constellation of Sagitta (the Arrow).

Why can't these galaxy news things be like 2, 3 or 1 ! Lightyears away ? 
You know so in the next few decades we could just pop over for a nice dinner and back.

I vividly remember the horror I felt when I found out about Hubble's design flaw, back in 1990.

But now, over thirty years later, when I look at the amazing catalogue of magnificent images from the fixed version, all is forgiven.  Almost..
