A Texas man accused of evading police after a pet tiger was seen crawling in a front yard is now in custody.

Victor Hugo Cuevas, 26, was taken into custody Monday, but whereabouts of the tiger are still unknown, the Houston Police Department shared on Twitter Monday evening.

On Sunday, a video of a tiger in a Houston neighborhood went viral after a neighbor noticed the feline had a collar.

“It’s someone’s pet,” someone in the video said.

So he is in custody on an unrelated Murder Charge...but the Tiger is still at large.  He obviously either it took it to somebody or let it go somewhere.

It looks like it is a juvenile.  Hopefully no one gets hurt.   Hopefully the tiger doesn't get hurt or killed.

Carole Baskin offers $5,000 reward for tiger missing in Houston

Carole Baskin, founder of Big Cat Rescue and star of the Netflix series, "Tiger King," is offering a $5,000 reward in connection to the tiger that has been missing in Houston since Sunday, according to a video posted on her verified Instagram account.

Baskin is offering the money to whoever has the big cat, provided that person will release the animal to a sanctuary that is accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries, and will work with the authorities to convict the people involved in the buying and selling of the tiger, Baskin says in the video.

Update: The tiger has been found.

A tiger that was spotted roaming around Houston is safe and well, the city's police department has said.

India, a nine-month-old tiger, had been spotted last Sunday in the west of the city and was nearly shot by an off-duty deputy.

Houston Police Department Commander Ron Borza said it was not clear where the tiger had been in the week since that sighting but the owner, whose name he gave as Gia, had brought the animal to police.

At a news conference, Borza said Cuevas’ wife, Giorgiana, turned over the tiger to police on Saturday after a friend reached out to Barc.

“It is Victor’s tiger. That’s what I was told by [Giorgiana Cuevas] ... She says they’ve had that animal for nine months,“ Borza said.

He alleged that the tiger was passed around to different people but that Cuevas’ wife knew where the tiger was at all times this week as authorities searched for it.
