The first picture in the article looked like a place where ATV and motocross guys have fun but with the large scale view show a very strange and huge shapes !

Those patterns look suspiciously like physical land-based versions of the sonar sweeps previously touted as "city blocks" on google earth, like somebody was dragging an instrument package looking for something.
