Quote "All that we are is the result of what we have thought: it is founded on our thoughts and made up of our thoughts. If a man speak or act with an evil thought, suffering follows him as the wheel follows the hoof of the beast that draws the wagon…. If a man speak or act with a good thought, happiness follows him like a shadow that never leaves him.” ~

Technically speaking.... ~ ~ Not to mention the Quran bears similarities to the Judaic narratives... ~ Interesting article concerning the Pali Canon, and I would not argue the point that the early Dharma and Sutras were written in a number of different languages because there are many early writings however the Pali Canon is the most complete of all the early written text. The quote below by Horner, must be meant as a joke because there was no written text for more than 400 years after Buddhas death. Thanks Man The Buddha did not adopt Sanskrit because not all Mahāyāna texts are preserved in pure Sanskrit. Moreover, we know from the beginning that the Buddha was not in favor of Sanskrit. In the Pāli Vinaya it is mentioned that the Buddha strongly reprimanded the monks for using the metrical form of Sanskrit (Horner 194).

Wistman Posted June 2, 2021 #123 Share Posted June 2, 2021 " We have a fear of facing ourselves. That is the obstacle. Experiencing the innermost core of our existence is very embarrassing to a lot of people. A lot of people turn to something that they hope will liberate them without their having to face themselves. That is impossible. We can't do that. We have to be honest with ourselves. We have to see our gut, our excrement, our most undesirable parts. We have to see them. That is the foundation of warriorship, basically speaking. Whatever is there, we have to face it, we have to look at it, study it, work with it and practice meditation with it." --- Chogyam Trungpa
