Will Due Posted June 11, 2021 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2021 (edited) "A giant arc of galaxies appears to stretch across more than 3 billion light-years in the distant universe." Science News Magazine: An arc of galaxies 3 billion light-years long may challenge cosmology. https://www.sciencenews.org/article/galaxy-giant-arc-3-billion-light-years-long-cosmology-space *snip* Edited June 11, 2021 by Saru Removed scripture unrelated to this news story - that's best reserved for the spirituality boards, thank you.
Will Due Posted June 13, 2021 Author #2 Share Posted June 13, 2021 (edited) If the Giant Arc is real, “this is a very big deal.” “Our standard model, not to put it too heavily, kind of falls through.” Edited June 13, 2021 by Will Due
Will Due Posted June 13, 2021 Author #3 Share Posted June 13, 2021 (edited) From the atom to the solar systems to the galaxies, it looks like we now have scientific evidence that not only are the elementary physical systems made up of their constituting parts whirling about a nucleus of greatest mass, it appears that the universe itself is made up the very same way. Everything in it located relative to, and orbiting about, a relatively motionless and stable central object of greatest mass. "After doing two different statistical tests, the researchers determined that there was less than a 0.0003% probability the Giant Arc wasn't real." https://www.livescience.com/amp/giant-arc-in-space.html "But the current standard model of the universe is founded on the cosmological principle, Lopez added. "If we're finding it not to be true, maybe we need to start looking at a different set of theories or rules."
