Poorer white school pupils neglected for decades

"It's nothing short of a scandal" how white working class pupils in England have been "let down and neglected" by the education system for decades, says a hard-hitting report from MPs.

Robert Halfon, education select committee chairman, dismissed "divisive concepts like 'white privilege' that pit one group against another".

Poorer white pupils are falling behind "every step of the way", he warned.

The Department for Education said it was investing in "levelling up".

Robert Halfon- privately educated, once claimed £30k expenses to have an affair while he was MP, later claimed she was blackmailing him.

Campaigned for cheaper petrol ( so not really on board with global warming issues).

Halfon voted against the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013.

Once took the National Union of Students to the HCHR because he did not wish to be a member (it was thrown out).

So quite a complex character.

I'm going to suggest this is a "divide and rule" ploy- get the poor whites to believe the poor blacks are getting all the cookies.

If the ruling Tory Party really wanted to improve the lives of poor white working class children they could easily do so (for example they could fund free meals for the poorest in the holidays instead of spending 10x that amount on a yacht or two presidential jets for Johnson to fly around the world showing off his green credentials).

The main difference in those who end up with a degree and those who struggle to get out of high school without a decent set of qualifications are the parents.

In low performing households you find the parents are clueless. They let the school system teach them everything and dont participate in the upbringing of their own children. In high performing households you find both parents getting involved early on doing work on their children. As such, when their children start school they already know how to read, write, and do maths.

They recon from the start children from low income households are 5 years behind.

It all comes down to pupils and their family IMO - if they are for work and learning the family (and their kids) will get somewhere. Think giving teachers another 10k and thinking class performance will suddenly increase is short sighted.

Instead, they are trying to blame immigration- because they know that will be loved  by the working class suckers who vote for them.

The difference is the private schools teach individualism and kids are around individuals, while the state schools have the bottom riffraff mixed in with their negativity and insecurities and herdism.

I agree, there is no shortage of equipment.

And quite frankly if there was (when there isn`t) nothing on earth would stop a kid from learned if they wanted too.

In London there are a lot of pro-immigration middle class who funnily enough are immigrants.

Outside of London the middle class (and I speak as one of them) are majority in favour of restricted immigration. Only an actual brain drain in of those with skills we actually need, plus one or two exceptions like ex-KGB agents.

Then you say it is not income, it is the fact they are "riff raff".

Perhaps it is both, they don't achieve educationally because they are poor riff raff? Then what should we do with them?

The lower social orders are incompetent, irrelevant, and cannot behave normally.

Thats why they are at the bottom. Be it towards their own kids, the laws of society, or the rules of the workplace. The peasantry never rise anywhere because in their minds they are peasants.

It is absolutely not taught to the same standard everywhere. You might have heard of Ofsted.

The difference is that private schools can afford the very best teachers, the smallest class sizes, any and every resource that might help and the parents can afford private tutors outside of school hours.
