Britain says that its Type-45 destroyer sailed through international waters with no action taken by the Russians. The Russians are claiming they fired warning shots at the vessel and drops bombs in its path. It should be noted that following the annexation of Crimea that Russia claims the waters sailed through as its. A BBC reported on the bridge of the vessel says the incident occurred and Russian jets buzzed the vessel.

The Russians like to try to intimidate but Vlad isn't a fool.  He KNOWS he'd have no chance against NATO without resorting to tactical nukes.

Russia's annexation of Crimea and territorial claim is not recognised internationally, The UK tasked HMS Defend to sail through those waters that Russia now claims as its territory. Russia had the option to defend its claim, it failed to do so. - as demonstrated by HMS Defender. a massive statement.

Looks like the sabre rattling is continuing.  If the world ever stumbles into nuclear war it will be due to egos and miscalculations.  That's the greatest danger of having uncertainty about exactly WHO is in control in the U.S.  The geriatric sitting in the Oval Office can barely finish a sentence coherently.

Apparently a US warship was to sail along with HMS Defender. Biden cancelled.

Probably because you've got an apparent problem. It's not that this doesn't happen to your people all the time, but this was one particularly interesting timing.

Classified defence documents containing details about HMS Defender and the military have been found at a bus stop, prompting an investigation from the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

...

The MoD said an employee reported the loss of the documents last week, which were discovered by a member of the public in a soggy heap behind a bus stop in Kent early on Tuesday morning, the BBC reported.

The papers included one set of documents that discussed the potential Russian reaction to HMS Defender’s travel through Ukrainian waters off the Crimea coast on Wednesday, according to the BBC, while another laid out plans for a possible UK military presence in Afghanistan.

One of the funniest examples was with Oliver Letwin. When he was caught deliberately dumping government papers in a park's rubbish bins outside his office, it turned out he used to do it routinely as it was easier than shredding them. He thought the fact that the papers were stamped "Oliver Letwin, Most Secret, For Your Eyes Only" meant that anyone who found them would know they were not supposed to read them. BBC News - Oliver Letwin apologises for dumping papers in park bin

On the brighter side, such carelessness can only be the result of very high confidence in stability and security of the country. Like, who cares if it's most secret, what difference can it make :D
