It's like comparing apples and oranges. Blue Origin has serious Space aspirations while Virgin Galactic is content to sell low tech, Mach 3, high altitude circus rides.

Did you actually read the article before commenting? The article is specifically about the Virgin Galactic / Blue Origin rivalry in the commercial sub-orbital tourist market.

Any orbital aspirations are totally irrelevant to that rivalry. Your "apples and pears comparison is, in this context, totally false.

As for the "serious" space aspirations, as you call it, you seem to be totally unaware of Virgin's history in that area.

Virgin Galactic once had aspirations to launch satellites. Those aspirations only ended when, in 2017,  Branson split the orbital part of Virgin from the tourist company forming a new company, Virgin Orbit.

And yes it is true that one company has a clear lead in "serious' space operations. Blue Origin  has yet to place a satellite in orbit and will not make its first attempt until late 2022. Virgin Orbit placed a satellite into orbit on 17th January this year.

Virgin Orbit is a separate company, one of many under the Virgin umbrella, run by Dan Hart, an industry professional, formally of Boeing. Virgin Galactic is joke, now, over here. They will be putting people in harm's way for money and will get people killed and that will be the end of Virgin Galactic.
