Happened minutes ago, seems an oil tanker has exploded in Dubai while in port.

Link has pics and a video of the explosion.

No reasons for the explosion yet being given.

Some updated information, the ship was outside the port and not in it.  Immediate speculation online was an oil tanker but it hasnt been confirmed yet, may have been a cargo ship but if it was a cargo ship something big exploded on it.

I would think had it been a tanker the ship would've remained ablaze.

From more current reports there were no dead or wound from the explosion, the explosion occured on a cargo ship, and the cargo ship was docked at the time of the explosion.

The explosion was so powerful that it was detected by satellites with thermal imaging.

Speculation is starting to grow that Iran is behind the explosion as Iran has made multiple threats about the UAE signing onto the Abraham accords and the fact the UAE has an upcoming expo.

This has the potential to strengthen the Dubai/Israel alliance unless the new government in Israel is bending to U.S. pressure where Iran is concerned.  Lapid would bend over backward for Biden's handlers but Bennett, maybe less likely.
