Guyver Posted July 10, 2021 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2021 It’s not a bad recap. He didn’t mention foo fighters at all, and those were reported prior to 1947. 1
bison Posted July 10, 2021 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2021 Yes, 'foo fighters' were seen at least as early as 1943. Both Allied and Axis forces suspected them of being secret weapons put into operation by the other side. As weapons they don't make much sense, anyway. There's apparently no record of any actual harm caused by foo fighters. What especially interested me about this discussion was the reference to scientists recently become more open to the idea that UFOs /UAPs may be worth serious study. The Condon Committee Report in the late 1960s produced some interesting data, which they could not explain by mundane causes. This was ignored by Dr. Condon, in writing his dismissive conclusion of the entire phenomenon. Condon had previously made no secret of his intention to produce such a finding, regardless of whatever evidence was turned up, all while trying to outwardly maintain a pose of openminded impartiality. fred_mc Posted July 17, 2021 #4 Share Posted July 17, 2021 Here in Sweden, 1946 was a big year for UFOs. There were lots of sightings of so called "ghost rockets", which seemed to show maneuverability, and often went down into lakes. They were mostly observed in Sweden and Finland but were also seen in other European countries. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_rockets
