That was a good find, and pertinent to the thread.  But, that study was from 2004 and the OP video was shot this year.  It is possible that environmental changes have occurred since then.

I wear waders whenever I wade; keeps leeches and **** off.

Tracks are actually evidence of it though.  You’ve spent time in the woods, as have I.  Think about some of your most remote treks…you know, the kind that does not involve a campground, water park, recreational lake, etc.  The kind where you have to carry in all your supplies on your back and motor vehicles either don’t have access or terrain prohibits their usage.  In those conditions, discovering “bigfoot” tracks actually would be evidence of the creatures existence, since the whole point of a hoax is to have it discovered.  You know and I know that a person can spends days or weeks in the deep bush and never see another human being at all.  Therefore, under those conditions, it would not be reasonable to consider those types of tracks as intentional hoaxes since the likelihood of them being found is so small.  Especially if the tracks are part of a trackway and not just an individual print. Hoaxing one “bigfoot” track near a campground is one thing, but hoaxing an entire trackway, especially in dangerous terrain far away from human presence is entirely something else.

There are no footie footies to match to "bigfoot tracks" so we have no metric by which to declare anything a "bigfoot track."

As I said, I have never seen a bigfoot track.  Some pictures I have seen look pretty convincing, but hoaxes or misinterpretations of another phenomenon can't be ruled out.  I want to see either a body or DNA evidence.  In North America, "bigfoot hair" has usually turned out to be a bear, dog or deer.  As of now, I have not seen any solid evidence:  only hints at what might be.

Doug

That is very reasonable.  I don’t blame you for having that mindset.  I am more open to this phenomenon since I’m pretty convinced I once encountered the creature myself.

And that may be what is shown in this OP.

Bigfoot tracks are like the name implies - very large human like feet.

They're elusive. How many people ever come across remains of dead bears in the woods or vast forests? Hardly ever.

Quite alot of people

I haven’t.  I’ve never seen a bear carcass, Nor have I ever met anyone who has.  I’m not saying it’s impossible, but I would consider it a rare thing to find, personally.

Nope.  We have no bigfoot feet to examine in order to make any scientific declarations about their physiology.  Speculation and playground pretend, sure.

I have.  So that's three in just this thread. You are trotting out a tired bigfoot shibboleth.

ETA:  What you consider a rare find isn't so much.  I've also seen a moose carcass (too close, actually) a deer carcass, a caribou carcass, a wolf skull and on and on.

So, since three people told you that they have seen a decomposing bear carcass, you just believe it?  Do you have any proof of your observation?

No, I don't just believe them; but I give them more credence since I've seen it myself, as well as other carcasses.  I've also seen photos of decomposing carcasses of a much higher resolution than, say, your average footie foo-foo photo.  Or that of any bigfoot photo, tbh.  Yeah, you don't have to believe my anecdote, or those of others, that's completely up to you, but know bear carcasses have been found, which is a far sight more than bigfoot carcasses.  Or fossils, or skulls, or bigfoot rugs in the lodges of First Nation peoples, or Native Americans, or  . . .

Would you care to make a bigfoot wager?

There are those of us who don't even own guns, but, none of us believe in mythological creatures, either.

This is hunter or fisherman in outdoor gear.

Rubber waders would explain that big fold, wouldn't it?

Eventually, everyone sucks at gambling; those big flashy casinos don't build themselves.

Seeing the screenshots posted by Abe in the second post gives me the impression of someone in a drysuit rather than waders.

In the op the video is said to be taken by a kayaker, right?  In the summer, right?

I was curious why someone might wear a drysuit in a river in summer.

The photo that was snipped was that of a decaying grizzly bear in Katmai.

You won’t find many carcasses in the wild. Too many animals in nature will feed off of dead animals. I’ve spent a large portion of my life on remote places outside and I’ve only seen one bear carcass in Canada. But I can honestly tell you I have seen bear bones countless times.

But to be fair to you- if bigfeet exist then their population would have to be many magnitudes smaller than that of bear.

I think for me, the lack of historical bones is what makes me feel like this animal doesn’t exist. We find bones of tens  of thousands years old all the time all over the world. Yet not one bigfoot. That and I think an animal this large would have an immense feeding/habitat area and would have been irrefutably seen by now.

But all of us bigfoot doubters may end up being wrong. That’s the wonderful thing about life.

Funny how some states in the US have passed laws to protect bigfoot when there's no hard evidence that they exist.

Helps to protect trigger happy hunters from shooting others?

Passing the laws gets the BF believers off their back and doesn’t do any harm.

They can still shoot others while hunting other game. City slickers hunting have been known to shoot farmers livestock thinking

it's a deer and turns out to be a mule or horse.

Yep, but Mr and Mrs Bigfoot are meant to be humanoid in appearance. So an added deterrent to not shoot something which looks like a person!
