Chronus Posted July 23, 2021 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2021 So yesterday we found a dead rabbit in my mom's garden, it was missing it's head (we found it about 10-15 feet away, and it's arms were missing and we haven't found those. Owls can't carry off a whole Rabbit so they will in most cases only eat the head and sometimes legs too! So what animals would kill a rabbit and not eat it? I would say, any animal that had its meal interrupted and/or made the kill but was too small to carry it off. Not sure what portion of the states you live in but animals like weasels, minks, fishers....etc etc could easily take down a rabbit but wouldn't necessarily be able to carry off the kill if frightened in the middle of eating.
