UM-Bot Posted July 26, 2021 #1 Share Posted July 26, 2021 Scientists have observed a type of slime mold that is surprisingly brainy given its total lack of a brain. https://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/news/349184/brainless-blob-can-think-and-make-decisions 1
jethrofloyd Posted July 26, 2021 #2 Share Posted July 26, 2021 There has already been talk of this brainless blob before, here at the UM: https://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/news/331321/real-life-blob-has-720-sexes-but-no-brain

Essan Posted July 26, 2021 #4 Share Posted July 26, 2021 Sounds like a perfect candidate for the POTUS (Some may argue such a blob has already held the office) 1

Raptor Witness Posted July 26, 2021 #6 Share Posted July 26, 2021 (edited) Post #30 Posted March 12 (edited) It’s amazing, how suggesting that the historically slimy, FBI should be replaced as an institution, draws such sideways ire. I think we need a more scientific approach to government, not religion. After all, it took just one pandemic to destroy the Republican Party, as an institution. I don’t want to see my country fail, also. The human brain is capable of more foresight than is currently imagined by science. The reason is simple, the entire planet is thinking, also. This garden has a brain. If you’re interested in the subject, you might consider the concept of field entanglement, which is a basic approach. Also, the idea that the fitness of a virus, is actually thought, which is an idea that I put forward, here, above. Another clue, is the recent finding that slime mold can navigate a maze to find food, similar to a mouse, despite the fact that it doesn’t have a known brain. ....... Jon the frog Posted July 27, 2021 #10 Share Posted July 27, 2021 The more you learn about plants, mushrooms and other non-animal. The definition of the terms ''intelligence'', ''thinking'', ''behaviour'' are more difficults to decipher.
gidgetaldotmatrix Posted August 2, 2021 #11 Share Posted August 2, 2021 still can’t believe no one has quoted Bob from Monsters vs Aliens. Turns out you don’t need a brain, it’s all about the head jelly. what is it they say about structure equals function. in a weird way it makes sense that a knot of misfiring neurons isn’t necessary for cognitive process.
