Tatetopa Posted August 12, 2021 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2021 Couldn't dozens of long planks in Greece just as likely be parts intended for a ship? There was supposedly one trojan horse, but according to the same tale, 1000 ships.

Seems like it is possible but not probable that these are from the horse. Edited August 12, 2021 by Myles
Ell Posted August 12, 2021 #7 Share Posted August 12, 2021 It is the best evidence yet that those Turkish Greeks came from the Moon in an enormous wooden spaceship! Must have been the far side, because there aint no trees growing on the near side.
moonman Posted August 12, 2021 #8 Share Posted August 12, 2021 (edited) It's a pile of wood. Could literally have been anything. If the horse even existed, don't you think it would have been burned out of spite at some point? Were the losers really going to keep it around as a memento? Troublehalf Posted August 12, 2021 #10 Share Posted August 12, 2021 Interesting, the UM article says Pieces of wood allegedly belonging to the iconic wooden horse have been reportedly discovered in Greece. While the article itself says Archaeologists Claim They’ve Discovered the Trojan Horse in Turkey The article says they discovered it around Troy, which is in Anatolia, which is Turkey. Unless I am missing something?
Seti42 Posted August 12, 2021 #11 Share Posted August 12, 2021 (edited) How do they know the planks of wood aren't a part of Noah's Ark? Or pieces of the True Cross? Edited August 12, 2021 by Seti42

Unless I am missing something? Good point. I was also confused about that. I don't think there is any way they would bring back the horse to Greece, would it even fit on a ship, so if there are remains of it, it would be in Turkey.
Alpic Posted August 18, 2021 #15 Share Posted August 18, 2021 From the article: Quote Another discovery that supports the archaeologists’ claims is a damaged bronze plate with the inscription “For their return home, the Greeks dedicate this offering to Athena.” Quintus Smyrnaeus refers to the particular plate in his epic poem “Posthomerica.” The plate was also found on the site. Still not convinced, but it makes the claim stronger.
