Biden's botched Afghanistan exit is a disaster at home and abroad long in the making

It sounds like you are defending it because he’s to old to “run fast”? It’s good to cut your grandpa some slack because he’s slowing down. However, perhaps being to old to keep up is a problem for someone expected to fulfill the duties of the POTUS?

I must not have been clear on my point.  Survival Instincts: During a crisis, you deal with emergencies first. It's not a good idea to paralyze response by finger pointing.  When it's over, you can sit back in your easy chair and listen to all of the opinions of the infotainment crowd on both sides. I tend not to listen to the ones who were too busy with their trust funds or careers to serve.  Especially when they think of themselves as brilliant generals.

. When it is over, the hearings can begin.

The Taliban now has more BlackHawk helicopters than 85% of the countries on the face of the earth.

And no pilots.

My post showing it was removed but they have at least one pilot flying our chopper around the city with a noose and a person hanging from it. Ain't that nice?

The last US troops have left Afghanistan. It's over.

Sadly, I think it's far from over. The repercussions of this are going to be felt for years, one way or another.

Was it right to leave? I don't know. It certainly wasn't the right way to leave.

I keep thinking back to post-war Germany. Would the iron curtain have fallen further to the west without the large Allied military presence?

Let's also consider the fact that we must've trained a lot of people to fly these. Perhaps we taught maintenance too? Those 300k afghan "soldiers"  have 20 years of US military training. Many of them are now part of the taliban by force or by will one can assume. They have pilots.

Why would anyone vote for someone as screwed up as Biden? He’s a joke! Watching him trying to act like a president is sickening. He’s a fossil that should be in a nursing home not in the White House. He had every opportunity to get people safely out of there and he dropped the ball. He’s at blame for those people being killed. Impeachment wouldn’t be enough.

The daily fail is you who claimed the Taliban had no pilots. Then when faced with the reality of being wrong you switched gears to something else to cover your daily fail, But whatever, if you keep moving the goal post you are bound to eventually make a point.

KABUL, Afghanistan —

After a day at work, Zemari Ahmadi was just arriving at his home Sunday in Khwaja Burgha, a working-class neighborhood a few miles west of Kabul’s airport, when calamity struck.

As he pulled into the driveway about 4:30 p.m., children — his own as well as those of his brothers and other relatives — swarmed around Ahmadi’s Toyota Corolla. His 12-year-old son, Farzad, asked if he could park the car. Ahmadi obliged, put Farzad in the driver’s seat and switched to the passenger side.

That’s when what the family says was an American missile fired moments before from a drone buzzing nearby drilled through the car, slammed into the ground below and detonated.

In an instant, 10 people were killed, including no fewer than seven children, Ahmadi’s brother Emal said Monday. Among the dead were Ahmadi, 40, who the family said worked for a Southern California-based charity; a 25-year-old nephew who was about to be married; and five kids who were 5 years old or younger.

Let’s hope this isn’t the case. The was apparently one of the drone strikes that were in retaliation for the suck die bombing at the Kabul airport.

If Trump was President, no Afghans would have made it out.

He went so far as to say that Joe Biden is flying terrorist all over the world.

His plan was to proactively withdraw based on the Taliban abiding by the agreement he set.

If they failed to abide, then (supposedly) he would stop withdrawal conditionally based, until compliance.

The Taliban takeover was inevitable at some point as foreseen by our military, Department of defense, and intelligence agencies and other countries around the world.

It was never a question if, but when.

So had the withdrawal went according to Trump's plan, all American would be out, the Taliban would takeover, and these people that did get out might be facing death at the hands of the Taliban.

And Trump's administration never had any intention of helping any Afghans or Iraqis who aided our troops and applied for Visas to the U.S.

They even went so far as to delay these Visas some taking several years instead of the months they were supposed to abide by.

And Stephen Millers immigration head, made it abundantly clear, they weren't coming here if Trump was President.

You have to understand Trump. He won't fly in brown skin people from "S-hole" countries to the U.S. He never had any intention.

"don't underestimate Bidens ability to **** things up".    Obama.

And it would seem, don't underestimate his ability to make a bad situation worse.

Obama had a base of supporters.

Trump had/has a huge base of supporters.

Biden has nothing. It’s all fake.

It increasingly seems to be the way of things these days... pick a side and back them without question.

We have to hold the people we vote for as accountable as the ones we don't vote for.

In fact, to even closer scrutiny, as they're the ones we elected to represent our views in government. Take each issue on its own merits.
