TBH I liked his speech he gave today. On a whole, I thought he did well.

I didn't see this mentioned, but I read that the helos, and planes where disabled, so none would fly. Though I suppose they could have got one from the Afghan military. Didn't see a US or European source for this yet.

Joe messed up some in his speech, and his last speech too. Said 90% of Americans escaped, when it was 98%.

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2021/08/31/biden_90_percent_of_americans_in_afghanistan_who_wanted_to_leave_were_able_to_leave.html

His looking at his watch was a dozzy too. According to pictures, see link below, he did it every few minutes.

The story where one of the parents of one of the thirteen killed, said Joe spoke more about his son the about those killed, which passed off Joe, was amusing too.

So you think getting one helicopter of the ground equals pilots

Not the sharpest knife in the drawer are you.

Don't be so naive, there are plenty of Russian and Chinese pilots willing to help them out and embarrass the Americans

They don't. I've provided a link.

Getting one helicopter of the ground does not equal a squadron of pilots capable of flying latest technology fighter jets.

Your just a drama queen.

Again, don't be so naive.

I'd say you have a lot of faith in a non technical culture.

A leaked transcript and audio recording of a call between President Joe Biden and then-Afghan President Ashraf Ghani about three weeks before Kabul fell showed that as the Afghan president warned of a Taliban “invasion,” Biden pressed him to change the “perception.”

According to a report by Reuters, in a 14 minute call between Biden and Ghani on July 23, the Afghan president told Biden, “We are facing a full-scale invasion, composed of Taliban, full Pakistani planning and logistical support, and at least 10-15,000 international terrorists.”….

….Biden also told Ghani, “I need not tell you the perception around the world and in parts of Afghanistan, I believe, is that things are not going well in terms of the fight against the Taliban.”

“And there is a need, whether it is true or not, there is a need to project a different picture,” he told Ghani, and urged him tot give a press conference with Afghanistan’s prominent political figures backing a new military strategy.

“That will change perception, and that will change an awful lot I think,” Biden said…..

….Reuters noted that as the two presidents spoke, Taliban insurgents controlled about half of Afghanistan’s district centers, indicating a rapidly deteriorating security situation.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Tuesday blocked the House from publicly reading the names of the 13 killed U.S. service members in Afghanistan, House Republicans said.

Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) told the Floridan that Pelosi ignored the Republicans’ request to read the names, instead she “just closed the House down.”….

…..The denied Republican request comes as nearly 40 Republicans have called for president Biden to resign for stranding Americans and abandoning U.S. gear in Afghanistan.

When House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) attempted a House vote to “require” Biden to recover the military gear and Americans, Democrats blocked the vote. “Democrats just blocked a vote to require a plan from President Biden to bring Americans home and to account for all the military equipment he left behind,” McCarthy tweeted. “Republicans will not stop until every American is home safely.”

It's intriguing, how many armchair bureaucrats have got this all figured out from their google sources and know for certainty what played out behind the scenes and how it should have been done.

You folks should definitely apply for the job next time we're in the scenario.

very impressive.

What else can you do?

You can attempt to navigate the cesspit of contemporary media and social media news with your sanity intact, form opinions, and share them on public forums...

...or you can travel back in time, become wealthy and successful enough to buy your way into a political career, then feck things up enough to make the headlines rather than discuss them!

The Taliban are currently learning how to fly American made helicopters thanks to American made flight simulators on their American made PCs.

If your strong point is keeping your mouth shut and just going along with what you are told, go with that.

We have Biden telling the Afghanistan President to pretend for the media that they were winning against the Taliban as the Taliban was taking over the country. Not sure what kind of non-armchair-bureaucrat can’t process that.

The U.S.-supplied "rifles, plate carrier vests, and other infantry gear provide legitimate tactical value to the group's foot soldiers," The Washington Post reports, but "some of the captured equipment, like helicopters and attack planes, may be more useful for propaganda imagery than for everyday use." U.S. contractors maintained the Black Hawk helicopters, C-130 transport planes, and other aircraft that require expensive and hard-to-find parts, and the Taliban lacks the technical expertise to keep them airborne, even if they find pilots.

The Taliban were "significantly helpful" in enabling the U.S. and allied forces to airlift 122,000 people out of Kabul's airport in two weeks, McKenzie said, but they will have a hard time securing Kabul. When the Taliban swept through Afghanistan, freeing its fighters from prisons, it also swelled the ranks of ISIS-K to about 2,000 militants, he said. "Now they are going to be able to reap what they sowed."

Your strong point is just the opposite as we all know. You can't stay quite, you must promote misinformation, disinformation, lies, propaganda, and conspiracy theories. Now that's not a bad thing for us though because it clearly proves you have no credibility!:D

Um this is probably beyond your comprehension, but anyone who can fly a helicopter, can fly those aircraft too and they don't need a flight simulator for that. The only thing they actually need are the instruction manuals for the added systems and they can most likely get them online!

Just for your information!!;)

It appears that the Afghan Military had a total of 150 Aircraft, however more than 70 were destroyed before the plane left Afghanistan along with some others very important equipment!

As the U.S. troops departed, they destroyed more than 70 aircraft, dozens of armored vehicles and disabled air defenses that had thwarted an attempted Islamic State rocket attack on the eve of the U.S. departure.
