It's much tougher to discover different and new things than it was browsing around in a huge used book store for hours. Maybe it explains Trump vs Biden or Brexit vs remain in the EU. Do you think TikTok is new exciting stuff? Porn? It's like when the music industry get's too corporate and you hear different versions of the same hit album over and over and new original music is difficult to find. Boring Thou dost protest too much, methinks... Joking aside, music is one area I do still enjoy. I regularly find new bands that are pretty decent, old bands that passed me by, as well as talented unknowns that wouldn't normally get to showcase their skills. 1 1 Top

Not new though. Probably some of the oldest stuff on the web as far as subjects go. I used to be fairly expert at 3-D modelling rendering and photoshop, built all of my own computers from the early 90's to the 2010's, could actually remove lines of virus and malware manually in 95 and XP, had a ton of software and hardware for recording music and my own in home studio. See it is just me being old. I'm bored with all of that stuff now, but you're right, it is exciting if your into it. 2 Top

I'm not moaning at others I'm just saying that from my perspective the web is not as vibrant as it used to be. There is a ton on it, certainly, but I think after a certain point in life you will find it's not as substantial as it seems now. One day you may agree with me, who knows? 4 Top

Oh no, I'm not buying into this conspiracy of a fake or dead internet. It doesn't seem as original as it once did to me. whether that's because it isn't or because it's just my perspective is the question for me. Watching them slowly fill in from the top. Taking FOREVER to get to the good parts of the photos........... Ah, yes, the downloading... estimated time 20 minutes, then it jumps at 6 hours, then back to 12 minutes, then your connection breaks down and you've got nothing Sure, it was exciting to download successfully 5 minutes of music or a tiny photo made of few hundred pixels in total, but I don't miss that excitement either. I remember finding interesting read on line, but being on the Internet was expensive so I'd go off line and then back on when I was ready to scroll further It's logical that the longer one lives, there're fewer surprises left for them, in reality and so on the Internet too. Even if something seems new, it's similar to something I already was fed up with. So the life and the Internet don't seem madly exciting anymore. I couldn't sleep night before an important event when I was young. Now I can sleep through an important event The way I don't miss my inexperienced youth, I don't miss the thrill of the newfangled in Internet. I like this "boring", old Internet better. It's very useful, informative, practical, fast, accessible, amusing, you name it. The only problem is that valuable stuff has to be sifted from a mountain of crap, but with some experience it goes pretty fast. 2 1 Top

All I said was that it's not as exciting as it once was and that there is nothing actually new on it. The newest thing on it is commercialism and that's not new. It used to be so different that I recall donating $10 to keep this website running (I think). I did that for quite a few websites that I frequented back in the days before google ads was a thing on every website. That's probably why it seems so so dry comparatively, have to keep it sponsor friendly to keep those ad bucks rolling in. 2 Top
