Okay I thought they were...

Pfizer and Moderna are the mRNA vaccines, and AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson are the traditional kind.
The mRNA kind lasts a shorter time than the traditional kind, but protects more people. You just need new shots more frequently.
The mRNA kind protects 19 of 20 people, while the traditional kind protects 12 of 20 people.
With Pfizer, Moderna and AZ you need two initial shots, while J&J you need only one.
From an efficiency POV the mRNA ones are superior, but you need more of them, while J&J is the most economic one. AZ is the weakest of them all on all fronts.

There has been a lot of talk about the long term effects of mRNA in the human body, but rest assured. Studies have shown that the body breaks it down within days.

Could a possibility be the new mRNA technology in the vaccines weakens the immune system, or alters it in a way to make people more susceptible to variants?

Most people are not healthy to begin with. They eat junk food, lack proper sleep and sunlight. The rate of chronic diseases is increasing around the world.

A vaccine is a not a panacea.

Latest Covid news from Denmark:

Sundays test results, published today Monday, shows a record breaking 7,799 new cases.
But hospital admissions are still relatively low and steady, at currently 480 - mostly unvaccinated - which shows that the vaccines are working.
