A Turkish man who was reported missing unknowingly joined search parties looking for himself.

Local media reported that Beyhan Mutlu, who lives in the Inegöl district of northwest Turkey's Bursa province, was believed to be missing on Tuesday.

He had wandered away from his friends in a forest while drunk, according to the Daily Sabah website.

His wife and friends reported him missing after they were unable to get in touch with him for several hours.

Mr Mutlu, 50, later joined a group in the area who were helping the authorities search for him.

Reminds me of a story from WWII.  A heavy bomber coming back from a mission over Germany had sustained too much damage to safely get back to England so the pilot set the primitive "auto-pilot" and gave the crew the order to bail out.  When they assembled on the ground, the rear gunner was missing.  At the pub that night, during the traditional "send off" to lost comrades, the gunner walks in.  The auto pilot helped the thing glide in, and the crash wasn't bad enough to kill him.  Imagine his surprise when he realized he was the only one aboard!  :w00t:
