You are. You're basically saying why do they have to allow transgender people rights, they just be straight like you think they should be. How dare anyone create policies to accommodate them.

Nope. Gross mischaracterization and completely inaccurate.
Those are your words. I’ve never said anything like that. Your personal attacks and dishonesty are boorish…..

Wow, I don't suppose your a psychiatrist or anything

That's a a very homophobic solution. You really ought to be ashamed of yourself.

How is choosing a difficult change of life a stereotype?

…more of the same.

Your thinking is barbaric and homophobic.

Here, educate yourself a little. Big ask I know, but give it a try anyway.

…..I think you make the perfect spokesperson for the transgender cause. Keep up the good work!

That's awful.

Western countries? I can see that in theocracies.

Yes you have. You have said several times that transgender people should just be happy with the gender they are born with. You have attacked policy that supports their needs.

It's not a cause. They are people. That makes them rights not causes.

Nope. I think everyone should be ABLE to be happy with who they naturally are. I’ve stated very clearly my thoughts on this. The fact that you need to resort to such mischaracterizations says more about the integrity of your beliefs than it does mine.  It’s pretty sad that an idea like being comfortable in your own skin is now controversial.

…and you have defended a policy that rapists exploit.

However, returning to the issue of bathrooms it’s you who has undermined the trans-argument. Your “third bathroom”:solution denies that transpeople are their subjective gender. Tell us more about how you don’t think a trans-woman is a woman and want to segregate them into their own space.

That's what you can't wrap your head around and where you go wrong.

Criminals don't exploit policy now. Well, who would have thought......

I like @Gromdor solution better than mine. All unisex individual stalls. It's better than a third bathroom.

Don't know why you think I think that. I recognise that some females are not comfortable with that solution. Why don't you think those women don't have rights?

Yet even after women have been sexually assaulted you still don’t see a problem with allowing men to use the same bathroom as women?

You'll find those bathrooms in any major gasoline chain in the U.S. and most stores.

Very true, same down here.

If that was the standard nobody could complain or feel unsafe.

Might be more of a wait though. More space.

Hint: the same countries that won't let women go to school, work, drive, go anywhere without a male family member as an escort and force them to keep their heads and face covered.

I believe those gas station restrooms have a lock to facilitate single occupancy. They are not integrated in the sense that men and women enter them at the same time. For all intents and purposes single occupancy offer more privacy and security that single-sex restrooms that are open to multiple simultaneous users, The drawback is that single occupancy limits the volume of users  the restroom can serve.

Around and around on the word game merry go round we go.
I would refer you back to our exchange from posts #63 to #68.
This is a common vehicle trans advocates use. It’s a short circular track.

Quote

It doesn't. That's illegal. It extended to people who identify as female (#63)

To which I responded (#66) “It does. You just believe that a man can subjective decide they are a woman and that makes it so. “

Your response in post #67 -

Quote

I actually stated the very opposite.

So???, …at times a man can actually be a woman based on their subjective feelings like when justifying who can use a particular bathroom. Like you said above in  post #83  “who said a man can use a women’s bathroom?” But at other times that woman isn’t a real woman, just a person who “identifies as a woman” and should be relegated to the warm and fuzzy solution of using a third bathroom or a unisex bathroom. However, in that case they are still not a man in the absence of being an actual woman but they are again defined solely by their subjective feelings. Does that accurate reflect your beliefs?

I don’t think subjective feelings makes a person a man or woman. You do, at least some of the time. That conflict is a problem in its self. How would your explain you beliefs to a woman who doesn’t think a man should be subjectively able to take on the identity of a woman?

Sadly, whoever it was that earlier in the thread suggested the current situation basically requires bathrooms to be designated by genitalia has presented the only stupid option that has seems like it might make everyone happy. However, I suspect the new problem would be people with “female penises” not wanting to share a bathroom with people who have “male penises”. Likewise the women’s bathroom would face a similar conflict.

I refer you to gromdors solution which I favour over a third bathroom.

There's the bigotted views again.

Not a real woman yet you say real man?

I don't agree.

Gromdor for the third time. It's an excellent solution that already works. Yes it would take more space, I mentioned that already. Try to keep up.

3 simple question…..

1. Do you consider a trans-woman a woman?
2. Same as any other woman?

3. With the same entitlements as any other woman?

Quite frankly Ive never really put much thought into it. I'm not really qualified but as an opinion I'd have to say yes.

Divorced. Well, seperated, waiting for her to sign papers. Seems to be taking forever.

No further interest.

I think that would totally depend on the person. I've not actually met a transgender woman personally. Not that I'm aware of anyway. But I do know I've met a lot of women I wouldn't date. It's more about the person or suppose.

I really don't have any interest in a partner though so I'm probably the wrong person to ask the question. I have zero interest in dating so it's not really something I think about or care enough about to consider what I would do if the situation arose.

Hey man, genuinely sorry about your divorce. I don’t know anything about it and don’t need to. I hope it is 100% for the best. Even so, that isn’t anything I want anyone to go through.

Ok, if it depended on the person and the person was your perfect partner BUT they had a penis, would you date them?

Answer as you will. I don’t know if there is anywhere else to go with these questions and I won’t follow up about this specific inquiry.

Thank you very much for your kind words. Appreciated. It's for the best, I just miss my kids too much. I get to see them weekends though. They have hit late teens now and have partners of their own now, so that time shrinks every month. Maybe I'll consider a partner again one day. Probably not though.

I suppose so, if I wanted another partner. I'm more into riding my motorbike and seeing live bands. If someone was of the same mind and was attractive to me I could date them. I'm heterosexual though so I couldn't find myself attracted to anyone with strong male features. Personally I think males are the opposite of attractive by nature lol. I'm 54 BTW. I can guess but I don't really know unless I was in the situation. It's like asking me if I'd rather team up with wonder woman or ironman.

I just prefer to be by myself these days. I take myself to dinner, out and buy myself things I want. I sleep in as I like and enjoy life at my pace. I don't expect anyone else to be the same and I've become too fond of doing things for myself after what seems a lifetime of looking after others. I really can't see myself sharing what I find such a precious commodity. Time. That would have to be someone really unique.

So just to be clear:

Was this kid transgender or are we just assuming because he wore a skirt a couple of times?

Did this school/school bathroom allow transgender usage?

Because so far to me, it's just another story of some poor getting raped in a bathroom with the added twist of transphobia thrown in.

The news articles are a bit twisty but.... The first assault was at Stone Bridge School in the bathroom and the boy was wearing a skirt and this is the one with Scott Smith being arrested, the dad from the OP article. The assault was in May, the meeting where Smith was arrested in June, and the vote about transgender bathroom finalized in August. After the first assault, the boy was transferred to Broad Run School where he committed the second sexual assault in an empty classroom earlier this month, no mention of what he was wearing that time.

Some sources cite him as being gender fluid. The sexual orientation of the kid isn’t important, he’s a predator. The issue is the transgender bathroom policy and it’s potential misuse by predators.
