I do work out of town quite a bit though at a beautiful resort. Am actually working out there now rebuilding a rooftop deck at the pub. Driving out from here last Friday at the spot where I usually see the mountain goats feeding there was a herd of about 15 doe and fawn that were grazing on the other side of the road. This gig is more like a working holiday that a job so enjoy my time here very much.

Crime, drug use, traffic, unclean streets, etc. A family member of mine lives in a city because he works there. He said he can tolerate it because of the area and he stays outside of the city every weekend. He basically rents in the city and owns a small home outside of it.

HI Mestic I grew up in a city that had the highest crime rate in the country as was extremely racist so I have dealt with a lot of crap and have never been concerned for my safety. When I moved here to be a grampa I lived in a couple of higher risk neighborhoods before I found the one I am in now. When I am not working out of town I enjoy sitting on my front deck sipping rum and smoking a fatty.

Some people in the country are depressed. Therefore depression has nothing to do with where you are. Depression has to do with how you think mostly. In some cases how you think is governed by mechanical influences in your brain that you have no control over.

Sojo Posted July 31 #806 Share Posted July 31 I walked out this morning and was grateful that in spite of the encroaching housing developments coming to within blocks of our area, I can still hear sounds like, chickens clucking, roosters crowing, birds chirping, and thanks to a small farm just down the road, cattle lowing, pheasants calling, and an occasional horse whinny. The other night our security camera captured this; a 4th deer joins these 3 to graze in our backyard: Peace, Sojo 5

Some years ago one of our visiting granddaughters heard the Peacock pheasant calls from the small farm down the road and thought it sounded like they were yelling "Hellllllllllllp!......Hellllllllllp!" Maybe they're calling for assistance. Hopefully, it will be as you say, and encroachment will stop where it currently is so the remaining wildlife can live out the remains of their lives in relative peace. Thanks, Sojo

The storm didn’t last very long, only about 30-45 minutes. No hailstones, and no trees were damaged. 2

LightAngel Posted August 10 Author #813 Share Posted August 10 Today we will watch "Never Cry Wolf". The film is about a biologist sent to the Arctic to study the impact of wolves on the caribou population. Over time, he discovers that wolves are not the ruthless killers they are often portrayed to be - instead, he finds them to be intelligent and social animals. 🥰 There is something about old movies, that I never saw before, that makes me excited - especially if it is about animals and nature. 😊 1

We live in crazy times, and therefore It is extra important to enjoy life. I also enjoy my life, and I won't let the madness get me down. This world is beautiful, and nature is wonderful (brutal at times) but still free and wild and alive and I love it. 😉 Edited September 7 by LightAngel
simplybill Posted September 26 #824 Share Posted September 26 The neighbor south of my property harvested his soybeans, and the neighbor who bales my hayfield lined up the hay bales near the property line.
