Why does anyone decide they want to be a cop in the first place?   What has changed since they became a cop.

The media has shamed cops the last few years.   A narrative was created where cops are bad guys.

Yes, the media has shamed cops for the last few years, and some of them deserved it, but the agenda was to make people distrust them all, which is a fear based agenda.  Why do we all have to live by "the media"?    Do you fear cops?   Do you know any cops?   I am not speaking personally, I think people need to get to know the cops in their area.  That has been discouraged for a long time and the successful cities are encouraging people to interact with them.  We have a few events every year in Albuquerque for that and cops are asked to volunteer for a lot of things.   If a police department is corrupt it starts at the top, the police cheif or sheriff.   You fire those and you get better cops. Dallas, TX is a good example of that.

Most of the time the problems people have with cops are caused by the cheif or sheriff or police commissioner or other people at the top, mainly lack of training and bad hiring practices.   Work towards getting a Clean house at the top and quit watching main stream media.

There are some bad cops like there are bad people in every profession.  But they are the exception.   The media had people believing that the number was over 50% when in reality it is closer to 5%.  They have black people thinking that the odds are good that they will be shot if they are pulled over.

I do know a few cops and they are very good people.

There was a time when the Dallas police department was that bad.   When the city fired the police cheif and hired a new one who was under great scrutiny before he was hired, the first thing he did was fire 1/4 of the police, then every week another few hundred were fired until only about half were left.   Many cops who had quit when working for the previous police cheif applied to come work for the Dallas department again, and many who thought they could get a job in Dallas as a cop, coming from smaller towns did not get hired for a plethora of reasons.   All the corruption was stopped in about a year.    It is not always just a few bad cops, most of the time it is a crooked police cheif or other top person.   And then there is the political crap of budgets that get hijacked so that police don't get the training they need, that is very common and the police reaction to the shooter in Texas recently was a good example of that.  No one wanted to take charge and no one knew what to do, they were all small town cops untrained for this incident, which is the fault of their boss, not them.

Nope, they will report that too, but to be fair, most of the crime is in the Democrat run cities.

And where do most of the people live?

I think that's what the media you consume told you.  The narrative is that cops are not any more trustworthy than any other profession, and that there are incentives in place for them not to always be so.  Given the evidence, yes, there's good reason for black people to be even more untrustworthy of them.

Okay, so there are more people in big cities and more cities are Dem run.  Isn't it logical that the more people there are in an area the more criminals (and doctors, and plumbers, etc) there would be?

Because they commit the most crimes?

If they're in uniform......Yes. From traffic accidents to ambush to getting killed in a exchange of gunfire.

https://www.voanews.com/a/us-police-deaths-reach-record-high-in-2021-report-says/6393968.html

The increase is up 55% from 2020.

According to FBI statistics they do.

For the leftist here....Committing a crime is a choice and not something borne out of poverty or desperation or any other excuse.

How do you know?  You're not making the basic mistake of confusing 'commit' with 'convict' are you?  How do you know 'most crimes' are committed by blacks when less than 50% of violent crimes are ever solved, and much less for property crimes?

Not sure how many cops have to deal with criminals daily unless they work for one.

It's getting to the point to where authorities will have to lock up only law-abiding citizens, in order to reduce prison population levels

Which of those professions have to interact with criminal elements of society on a daily basis?

Someone else already said that.   How many cops have to deal with criminal elements of society on a daily basis?   I think you watch too much televsion cop shows and need to go out and meet some real cops.

What? You think those of us who do work and struggle to get what we need and want should just quit complaining about people who Break the Law and take what they want?   How is that logical?  Are you one of those shoplifters that is the subject of this thread?

See you are the victim of Gov "Divide and Rule" - find a two amongst the peasantry and create a divide in the village - then pick a side over the other and destroy the remaining side.

IN this case working vs not working. For the free market to work you need hire and fire so people will be in work and out of work all the time, in fact it needs large scale unemployment for the free market to work.

Welfare money should be and usually is PRINTED money, therefore infinite.

It simply creates a whole load of valued and respected customers for you to work for.

All those unemployed people on welfare could very well be a chunk of your customers therefore your job.

Now, would you rather they had less money or more....

No, you are the one picking sides.  I asked you a question and you answer with irrelevant accusations.    You are trying on the "divide and conquer" attitude and are most likely a mind numbed zombie repeating what ever media you choose to align with.   I said "Break the Law and take what they want", in other words stealing.  You are confused about life if you think we live in some communist/socialist society that should just give everyone hand outs and expect nothing from them except obedience.  That is the end result of what you complain about.  If shoplifting is ok to you and you think it should be allowed then you must want Big Brother to take care of you instead of learning to take care of yourself.

What a silly perspective you have.   Money is based on resources, and I don't dispute that in it's present state it is mostly imaginary, however it is not printed, welfare money is not PRINTED money except printed on a ledger kept in a database on a government computer.   How long has it been since you were last on welfare?  In the U.S. people get a card and they can use that card to pay for groceries and sometimes medicine.   If the government is paying for their rent, they pay the landlord, not the recipient of welfare.  Same for utilities.
