It stems from pro hamas protesters using masks to anonymously threaten people on the train.

HI OverSword

Okay thanks for clarifying. A few years ago I was riding the train from downtown as parking is nuts and had a drunk hassling myself and others and when the train stopped I shoved him out the door, easy easy. Maybe some of the people being hassled need to step up

Yep, ironically NY had a mask ban for around 100 years before COVID...

Why one may ask... because of none other than the KKK!

People not being able to hide their identities kinda settles them back into decency and common sense. 😉

HI OverSword

Thanks again for giving a link, still think people should stand up for themselves and as a whole the pro Hamas group was outnumbered by regular Joe's that should have shared some intimidation of their own.

People won't even support me when I'm stopping junkies from smoking meth on the train.  People are not brave about their physical safety.

It is so silly how people want to dictate to others how to act.   Those not wearing masks who get bothered by someone wearing a mask need to get some congintive behavioral therapy.   Or learn to mind their own business.  Same for those who wear masks that are bothered that everyone is not wearing one.   Both groups are small extremist, nutter groups who need therapy or to go out into the woods and live in solitude.   If you have anxiety and it is releived by wearing a mask then please do what you need to do to be ok.  That is the goal, to be ok, except when being ok requires others to behave in a way that makes them feel uncomfortable.   No one cares that I have extra soap and toilet paper, it relieves my anxiety to have it and no one's business why.

Maybe committing a crime while wearing a mask to conceal your identity should be an additional charge?  Just a suggestion.

We live in a different world now than before 2020.  Before if you were wearing a mask you were considered a terrorist or a bank robber (we were told that was the only reason to wear one), but there were a lot of old asian women with immune disorders wearing the medical masks at the casino, proof that what we were told was just to keep us afraid.  Those old women were taking care of themselves the best they could and still feel comfortable going out in public.   Now we see people wearing medical masks everywhere, so what?   If you are robbing a bank it is a good idea to wear some type of mask over your face becaus of cameras, the terrorists in the U.S. are all white supremiscist or crazy white men so they don't need a mask to hide behind, they just walk around unnoticed.

So, what you say seems like nonsense to me.

I'm saying that you can't make it illegal to wear a mask these days due to paranoia about germs so a compromise to a mask ban as they are proposing in NYC could be to add as an additional charge extra charges if you commit a crime while wearing a mask especially as it pertains to violence such as rioting or assault.  How is that nonsense?

The mask ban sounds like nonsense to me.   But if someone is proposing that how could making more laws linked to masks make any sense?   If there is a mask ban then you are already breaking a law by wearing whether you commit a crime or not.

I'm saying in today's germ phobic climate a mask ban in a crowded city is not realistic.  Adding additional punishment for wearing a mask to anonymously commit crime would be a compromise to a mask ban. I don't see how that is nonsense.

Ok.  I get it.  I agree that a mask ban is unrealistic.   I thought you were supporting the mask ban.

I agree.  Commit a crime with a mask on and face twice the punishment.
