SCIENCE has long been thought of as magic to those intelectually challenged and an appearent battle of epic proportion seems to be going on right now as we speak by those who wish to use science as a tool of oppression and those who wish the best for humanity above themselves-the ongoing duel was discussed recently on the alex jones radio show-he had a guest named Douglas Mulhall who is a scientific journalist that is researching and closely following "nano-technology"and has authored a book titled "our molecular future"-one of the key issues raised in his book is an approaching event horizon he calls "singularity" which he claims will be a point in human evolution where a drastic changes take place greatly affecting the course of human development-through the development of nano technologies he claims this point is fastly approaching much quicker than anyone is predicting and he feels the world as we know it will be forever and completely changed by this event which he claims is likely only 15 years away-he points to the suppression of a current collapse of the patent system as we know it-he states that the information flood is increasing exponentially and that the people investigating the patents arent even in positions to understand what they are evaluating and that the nanotech cat is already "out of the bag" and that many counrtries around the world are already developing new and increasingly complex inventions and that the current system, which alex jones states was put into place to monopolize technology in the first place,is already crumbling and new inventions are about to flood the public like a new solar cell that is 5 times more efficient than anything before it and is dirt cheap to produce and is about to revolutionize the energy sector-he states humanity is going to have to find a new way to live as it will no longer be necessary to "work/struggle" to survive-medical breakthroughs in dealing with disease as well as aging are expected and the average life expectancy is going to be pushed deep into uncharted territory-while alex was pointing to this as a reason for the encroaching police state and likely new terrorist attacks(black magic of the dark wizards striving to maintain their supremacy) the author claims it is already too late for the neo-cons and that "science"(used for good) and the coming "singularity" is unstoppable--heres a sample and the website--im curious to hear what you guys think-

Nano News Stories - Technologies That Save Us Or Threaten Us?

What you're about to see are links to stories that describe the blinding pace of nanotechnology in our lives. These seemingly unbelievable advances are transforming not just what we DO but also what we ARE. In the time since Our Molecular Future was published, dramatic developments that were forecasted in its pages have already materialized. Here are links to some of those developments.

BREAKING NANO NEWS:

NASA discovers that nanobacteria grow five times faster in space: http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/links/doi...05.67105.x/abs/ - For more details on nanobacteria and calcification go to www.calcify.com.

Breakthrough in solar power costs: http://www.hindu.com/seta/2005/02/03/stori...20300431600.htm

Say goodbye to batteries: http://washingtontimes.com/business/200502...13142-9504r.htm

Meanwhile batteries just got cheaper: http://www.marketwire.com/mw/release_html_...elease_id=80729

Sensing a nerve gas attack... http://www.nanotechweb.org/articles/news/4/2/6/1

NOTE: IN MANY OF THESE STORIES THE TERMS "SELF-ASSEMBLING" AND "BOTTOM-UP" ARE NOW FREQUENTLY USED - THESE ARE STEPPING STONES TO MOLECULAR ASSEMBLY - SOMETHING ONCE DESCRIBED AS IMPOSSIBLE, BUT FORECASTED IN THE ACCLAIMED BOOK OUR MOLECULAR FUTURE.

OTHER NEWS:

WHAT MIGHT PROTECT US FROM HURRICANES, EARTHQUAKES, AND TSUNAMIS?

Super-fabrics many times stronger than conventional materials have been developed. These make possible buildings that withstand hurricane and flood, as foreseen in this book. They may also prevent disasters in space especially when spacecraft re-enter the atmosphere.

NANO AND MEDICINE:

National Cancer Institute launches $144 million nanotech initiative:

http://www.newstarget.com/z002909.html

Just how small are we talking about here ? A great example announced last week of using a nanoscale tool to operate

on a single cell: http://nanotechwire.com/news.asp?nid=1387&ntid=130&pg=1

And. . .nanobacteria discovered in HIV positive mothers and their children, meaning they cross the placental barrier.

Speaking of HIV, one of the first nanotech drugs has just been announced for HIV prevention:

http://nanotechwire.com/news.asp?nid=1416&ntid=130&pg=1

Skin printing for burn victims: How about using your inkjet printer to heal a burn? Skin is already being grown by

replacing the ink in bubblejet printers with skin-growing solutions.

http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,118815,00.asp and ink-jet printer.

MERGING THE STUFF OF LIFE WITH COMPUTING:

Nucleic acid transistors. Looks like the merging of biological DNA and computing is well underway:

http://www.betterhumans.com/News/news.aspx...ID=2003-11-20-4

And they have been doing it in Israel since last year. . .

http://www.mediaisland.org/modules.php?op=...article&sid=152

SIGNS OF THE BIG CONFLICT:

Nanostudents get prizes while protesters talk about downsides: http://nanotechwire.com/news.asp?nid=1356

Evaluating ecological impacts of nanoparticles. . . a wee bit too little and too late:

http://www.smalltimes.com/document_display...ry=1&startsum=1

TOO LATE. . .NANO EVERYWHERE ALREADY:

Wearing nano: I bought a shirt last week that had a tag on it "Nano-pel". Also used in furniture coverings. This is

the most visible example that nanoparticles are already surrounding us, next to our skin. Background:

http://www.fibre2fashion.com/news/NewsDeta...p?News_id=11705

And on cars: http://www.mercedes-benz.ca/index.cfm?NewsID=141&id=611

This shows that engineered nanoparticles are already everywhere in our personal environment. But while many fret

about nanoparticle impacts, scientists in China claim they are using nanopaint to clean the air:

There is no free and democratic government on earth. People of the world are like ants. One can do nothing but many can overwhelm the largest of predators when they act together. There is a war going on behind the scenes...populations are "controlled" people are plundered for thier labors and overtaxed to support an intelligence and military network that is extremely wasteful. War is good for the powerful. Every religion on the face of this earth has rolled over in support of tyranny. If people really could live thier lives you would see that this would be a wonderful world to live in...especially with the clean technology nowadays. However, when has it ever been otherwise? When have good people, spiritual people been able to govern themselves ? These kinds of people will never win in this world because they don't pick up guns to force the world to live a certain way.

The truth will set us free, then maybe there will be hope of change. ALl people need to stop dividing themselves in support of old archaic fundementalist beliefs, or thta cold hearted survival of the fittest military mindset. The A-bomb was made about 60 years ago...are we really any safer? Is that "patriotic" nuclear waste I see? Depleted uranium good for business of death? Why do we let these people get away with it?

Cure for cancers 'in five years'

Christie Hospital, Manchester

The hospital is appealing for donations to fund the research

Scientists in Manchester say a cure for all types of cancer could be available on the NHS within five years.

The world's first patient trials in a technique which genetically engineers cells will take place at the city's Christie Hospital later this year.

The treatment - gene-modified t-cell therapy - could replace more intrusive treatments like chemotherapy.

The cells are fitted with a "tracker" device to kill cancer cells before being injected back into the patient.

Professor Robert Hawkins, clinical director of Medical oncology at the hospital, says the initial results of lab tests have been "spectacular".

In the lab we have seen spectacular results in lung tumours and in the brain. It's remarkable

Professor Robert Hawkins

More traditional treatments like radiotherapy and chemotherapy destroy both healthy and cancerous cells.

The new system makes the body naturally seek out and kill tumours by boosting the infection-fighting t-cells.

The body does not naturally have enough of these cells to combat huge tumours, and cancer cells often develop protective mechanisms to avoid them being recognised by the body as a disease.
