For anyone using English - as indeed all on here do - the Oxford English Dictionary defines the meaning of words in English. It's how the word is used colloquially - and very frequently in social media and even mainstream media.
Tatetopa Posted December 3, 2021 #127 Share Posted December 3, 2021 Seems like woke has become a derogatory term rather than a descriptive one. From an original usage that might refer to behavior of belief, it has expanded to become an insulting bucket to contain whatever the user might hate. Rather like communist or socialist gets thrown around today in the US. 1

Saves a lot of thinking and analysis if you can just salivate when the bell rings like Pavlov's dogs. Still, I would rather be Pavlov's dog than Schrodinger's cat. Yeah, dehumanizing an opponent is the first step in justifying hate. Me, I'd rather make my own mistakes as an American, than somebody else's mistakes, just to make them feel good. It's amazing how many stupid things, stupid decisions, make people feel good....for a while. 1
