There's been 3 killed and 6 wounded in another school shooting just north of Detroit, Michigan. A 15 yr old sophomore is in custody. A semiautomatic handgun was recovered. Police say they know how the student was able to get the gun into the school but aren't releasing the information.

The dead were described as a 16-year-old boy, a 14-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl, according to McCabe.

Eight others were injured in the shooting, including one teacher, McCabe said later Tuesday night. Two of the injured were in surgery and six others were listed in stable condition.

Law enforcement initially said that six individuals were injured in the shooting. That number was updated to eight injured, including a teacher, at a second news conference Tuesday evening.

The shooting lasted about five minutes, according to McCabe. The gunman fired an estimated 15 to 20 rounds and “did not give resistance” when deputies took him into custody about 1 p.m.

 

The gunman surrendered his weapon, a semiautomatic handgun, to deputies during his arrest, McCabe said.

i wonder if it was a case of "enough is enough" of bulling,  imo this is more likely than anything else today, seeing how schools not only ignore the problem, but retaliate against those who report it.

The sad part about all of this is the fact that it’s not even shocking to hear about shootings anymore.

Oakland County prosecutor Karen McDonald did not reveal a possible motive for Tuesday's violence at Oxford High School and declined to comment when pressed about whether she believed the victims were specifically targeted. But she said the shooting was premeditated, based in part on a “mountain of digital evidence” collected by police.

Sheriff Mike Bouchard later told reporters that the boy's parents had been summoned to the school before the violence. Bouchard wouldn’t discuss details of the behavior school officials were concerned about. The teen, Ethan Crumbley, who is now charged as an adult with murder, attempted murder and terrorism causing death, was in the meeting with his parents, Bouchard said.

The four students who were killed were identified as 16-year-old Tate Myre, 14-year-old Hana St. Juliana, 17-year-old Madisyn Baldwin and 17-year-old Justin Shilling.

After the attack, authorities learned of social media posts about threats of a shooting at the roughly 1,700-student school. The sheriff stressed how crucial it is for such tips to be sent to authorities, while also cautioning against spreading social media rumors before a full investigation.

Crumbley, a sophomore at Oxford High, was charged with one count of terrorism causing death, four counts of first-degree murder, seven counts of assault with intent to murder and 12 counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said in a press conference.

McDonald said Crumbley will be charged as an adult, adding there were “facts leading up to the shooting” that suggested it was not an impulsive act.

The announcement came hours after a fourth victim, 17-year-old Justin Shilling, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Pontiac, Michigan.

OXFORD, Michigan—The shooter who allegedly killed four students and injured seven, including a teacher, at Michigan’s Oxford High School on Tuesday was previously flagged by administrators for “behavior in the classroom that they felt was concerning,” Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said Wednesday.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 15-year-old sophomore Ethan Crumbley. His parents had been brought into the school the morning of the shooting for a face-to-face meeting about their son’s behavior, according to Bouchard. He wouldn’t say what the behavior was, and police weren’t informed about any potential issues prior to the tragic event.

At Crumbley’s arraignment, Oakland County Sheriff’s Lt. Tim Willis told Judge Nancy Carniak that a search of the boy’s home turned up “two separate videos recovered from Ethan’s cellphone made by him the night before the incident, wherein he talked about shooting and killing students the next day at Oxford High School.”

He said a journal was also recovered from Ethan’s backpack, “detailing his desire to shoot up the school, to include murdering students.” A review of social media accounts showed he had access to a firearm and practiced with a Sig Sauer handgun, Willis added.

McDonald said in a Wednesday press conference that evidence showed Crumbley started planning the attack “well before the incident.”

“This isn’t even a close call,” she said. “This was absolutely premeditated.”

She said her office is weighing charging both of Crumbley’s parents, too. They have declined to speak with investigators. “There is a mountain of digital evidence... we are confident that we can show there was premeditation,” she said.

Bouchard said footage showed Crumbley walking out of a bathroom on Tuesday afternoon before opening fire on victims randomly and at close range.

I'm not sure which photos are which, however this is a video of Ethan on YouTube dated 5 years ago (that makes him roughly 10 years old in this vid). Make your own mind up as to how he may look now as a 15 year old.

They were at the school that morning for a conference about their son's behavior but the school officials didn't think it was, or would get, this serious.
