Is it Christmas or is it a dream?

Children are restless in their beds

Behind their curtains they'll hide

Seeking a sleigh above their heads

To glimpse where the reindeer glide

 

An offering of Brandy and fresh mince pies

To reward Santa with festive treats

Eventually sleep defeats tired eyes

As they snuggle beneath their sheets

 

Candy cane dreams sweeten their sleep 

Heralding the approaching morn

Promising memories to cherish and keep

On the day that Jesus was born

 

All eyes focus beneath the tree

Sparkling and glittering with hope

Will their wishes be decked with glee

Whilst racing through wrapping they grope

 

A time for families to care and share

This day is for the joy of giving

When carols and happiness fill the air

To celebrate the gift of living

 

Snow is fluttering to the ground

Drifting and cloaking the scene

Falling from the sky without a sound
