Ozymandias Posted December 16, 2021 #1 Share Posted December 16, 2021 “The reopening of the [Irish] economy through 2021 has led to a sharp rebound in the domestic economy, as households have increased spending,” said Conor O'Toole, author of an independent report issued today by the Economic & Social Research Institute (ESRI). The report states that: (1) by the end of 2021 the Irish economy will have grown by 13.6%; (2) unemployment will have fallen from 26% in 1st quarter of 2021 to 5% in the last quarter; (3) that by the end of 2021 the domestic Irish economy as measured by Modified Domestic Demand (MDD) will have grown by 6.2%; (4) the ESRI forecasts that Irish GDP and MDD will grow by 7% in 2022. 2
