It has been claimed for many years that there could be life in Venus' atmosphere. The other year, it was announced that high amounts of phosphine had been detected. However, later on, it turned out that the levels were much lower, making it more likely to have been produced by natural processes, or that it was not phosphine at all but sulfur dioxide.
