Still Waters Posted January 27 #1 Share Posted January 27 (IP: Staff) · The Catalan regional parliament has formally pardoned hundreds of women executed for witchcraft between the 15th and 18th centuries. MPs passed a resolution by a large majority to rehabilitate the memory of more than 700 women who were tortured and put to death. Spanish historians have discovered that Catalonia was one of the first regions in Europe to carry out witch hunts. It was also considered one of the worst areas for executions. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-60149778 3 Top
+OverSword Posted January 27 #2 Share Posted January 27 One of my friends is descended from an escapee of the Salem witch hunts. Her female ancestor was a midwife with knowledge of medicinal roots and herbs. Her family smuggled her up to Maine where a lot of the family still resides today. Hard to imagine people are really that dumb and that afraid. 2 Top
