''From the end of the 18th century until 1917 Southern Ukraine, as part of the Russian Empire, was known as New Russia.''

http://www.encyclopediaofukraine.com/display.asp?linkpath=pages\S\O\SouthernUkraine.htm

''1708: Russia Wins Control of Eastern Ukraine - During the Great Northern War, King Charles XII of Sweden detours into Ukraine as part of his ill-fated invasion of Russia and secures the support of the main Cossack leader at the time (though other Cossacks fight for Russia). The following year, Charles XII’s force is crushed at the Battle of Poltava, thereby cementing Russian control over the eastern half of Ukraine and, as Brain explains, marking the birth of the Russian empire.''

The Russian empire have not existed since 1917. The Soviet Union had both Russia and Ukraine as republics within the USSR. The Russian Federation, which only came to exist in 1992, have never owned any part of Ukraine.

Does the Mongols have a legitimate claim on Russia ? The owned the area before there even was a Russia. The Scythians were there even before the Mongols. How far back should you go ?

If you told where you live, I bet its almost certain that it belonged to someone else at some point. Will you do that ?

Some orcs literally don't know how to use the toilet. They made themselves a hole in the floor, right next to the functional toilet.

The video is on the link but it contains colorful language with English subtitles!

Peskov, Kremlin's spokesorc, admits that russia can't hold the territories it occupied. He admits some parts will be returned to Ukraine. He's wrong, of course, everything will be returned to Ukraine.

https://www.index.hr/vijesti/clanak/razgovarali-zelenskij-i-sef-natoa-peskov-nesto-bismo-mogli-vratiti-ukrajini/2400557.aspx

Speaking about the borders in the regions of Donbass, Kherson and Zaporizhia, Russian media group RBC reports that Peskov said the following:

"Read the order. There is legal wording there. In general, of course, we are talking about the territory where the military-civilian administration was operating at the time of admission [to Russia]."

And then he added:

"But I repeat once again: certain territories will be returned there, and we will continue to consult the population."

Ah politics, you dress nice and get a nice haircut (don`t worry, the taxpayer will pay), then tell a load of people what they want to hear.

And your reward is you make millions, maybe even billions. Until the suckers turn on you as they realise you never deliver on anything LMAO.

Or maybe you fancy taking the `I am a God route`. Instead of wealth you go carve out a vast empire in your name. Don`t worry, people are stupid lemmings, they will throw away their lives just because you tell them too. See, you`re a God, never mind the millions that died, if they followed you like you`re a God then you are one LMAO.

My understanding of why Russia is now in retreat:

1. Ukraine has far more men than it on the field.

2. They are driving lots of jeeps and Humvees. They drive through gaps and circle around Russian positions machine gunning them in. They don`t need tanks anymore to fight tanks, they take one or two javelins in the jeep/Humvee. And artillery and tank rounds struggle to hit small vehicles that are driving to evade being hit (not driving in predictable straight lines).

It`s like dune buggy warfare.

Russia officially annexes 4 Ukraine regions, leaves door open for more

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed laws that claimed four regions of Ukraine as Russia's territory on Wednesday, while his country's military struggled to control the illegally annexed areas. In a defiant move, the Kremlin held the door open for further land grabs in Ukraine.

Speaking in a conference call with reporters, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that "certain territories will be reclaimed, and we will keep consulting residents who would be eager to embrace Russia."

[...]

Peskov did not specify which additional Ukrainian territories Moscow is eyeing and he wouldn't say if the Kremlin planned to organize more such "referendums."

Could Russia also annex Kharkiv and Odessa?

China still benefits from Russia relationship, even with international reputation at risk: experts

China still has much to gain from its current relationship with Russia even as the invasion of Ukraine drags on, turning Russia into an international pariah and threatening to rub off on China’s reputation as well.

"China has, in effect, doubled down on its support for the Putin war effort, and we saw this, for instance, last month when China's third rank leader went to Moscow, spoke to the State Duma, and in very clear terms, expressed Beijing's support for Russia," Gordon Change, author of "The Coming Collapse of China," told Fox News Digital.

"Then, [we] see Jinping himself when he was in Uzbekistan for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, actually confirmed that endorsement," Chang added. "The only conclusion that we can come to is that Beijing is not backing away from Russia."

We have pushed China and Russia into each other's arms, to our own detriment.

The Russian and Ukrainian peoples are both East Slavic peoples with a common DNA heritage.

Just because we slap a border around a ground of them and call them Ukrainians doesn`t make them a separate people. In fact, Kiev created Russia.

You can when you tactical nuke first, and then have your low-quality troops simply walk in and take over.

Lol, right. Right into a hornet's nest. This conflict is so stretched out that a pocket nuke would be wasted. Not to mention that I'm sure there would be lots of anti rad combat suits already sent by Ukraine's friends. Then russia would be stomped into orc paste by Ukraine, and NATO. Tactics are not your forte, cookie.

I have no idea what you are going on about, and neither do you it seems LMAO.

Radiation suits do not block radiation, they prevent radioactive particles entering your body. The gamma radiation is very penetrative and needs about 6 inches of lead to stop that. Good luck putting a soldier into a suit that thick.

While I`m sure there are some village idiots in the world I`m pretty sure that Russia knows that in order to decimate a long front line they would have to use a few hundred tactical nukes. Troops in the nuke zone would have five problems to deal with - radiation, heat blast, firestorm, suffocation, and the shock wave.

The firestorm and suffocation would lead to the most deaths. As everything burns it removes oxygen from the air, oxygen that the soldiers need to breath in order to stay alive. Everything down to the blades of grass would be ablaze.

In the context of modern politics, in fact, just generally how tribal we are, that statement is inherently foolish.

By your reckoning, France should annex the U.K., or the other way round, or perhaps Italy should annex the U.K. or Ireland should reclaim large swathes of the United States.  If you sign up to the out of Africa concept, we’ll you get the message.

Dont underestimate our ability to be sh** to each other, and the role borders play in solving that particular trait.

It just goes to show how poor and primitive conditions are for the rural populations of Russia. It is why the idiots loot fridges and washing machines, they probably have never seen such luxuries before.

Anyway, here is a nice news clip describing the current situation, they are heading for Crimea:

So Russia want to "denazify" Ukraine so that they can redraw the borders based on racial purity. You don't see a contradiction here ?

I wonder how the UK would look if we redraw borders based on DNA heritage, or does this system only apply to some countries ? If so who gets to decide which ones ?
