They are not the aggressors here - Russia is. If it goes to WW3 (which it probably will soon enough, let's not kid ourselves) Russia will be to blame. They could choose to actively avoid trying to drag NATO into a conflict.

The West is no longer providing weapons to Ukrainians to ''defend their country''. They are now encouraging them to carry attacks on Russian soil.

Seems the West is the aggressor here. Did Russia attack the UK or U.S.? I don't think so.

Is this baseless speculation or do you have something to back that claim up?

Defence minister backs Ukraine striking Russian soil with British weapons

A British defence minister has backed Ukrainian strikes on military targets behind Russian lines, even if the weapons used have been supplied by the UK.

[...]

And the minister said it is “not necessarily a problem” if British-donated weapons are used to hit sites on Russian soil after accepting that weapons now being supplied by allies to Ukraine have the range to be used over borders.

“There are lots of countries around the world that operate kit that they have imported from other countries; when those bits of kit are used we tend not to blame the country that manufactured it, you blame the country that fired it,” he added.

Now imagine if Russia was putting military hardware in Cuba or Venezuela and said its ''OK to attack the West''. This would be considered a declaration a war.

No, Russia is willing to subject the Russian heartland to thermonuclear destruction over Ukraine. They are the one's waving their nuclear phallus around over it. Do they really think the West will allow them to do anything they want by threatening nuclear war? Ain't gonna happen, sweetheart.

Well, we finally agree on something!  It IS dangerous to openly announce your intentions against someone who is as cold blooded as Putin.  Mind you, most people leading countries these days are as cold blooded but few are willing to openly expose it.  There is a growing consensus that Putin is ill and they think it is affecting his decision making.  Publicly announcing a strategy of arming his enemy so as to do the maximum amount of damage to Russia, only gives him more support at home.

Seems to me, the best way to push him into feeling he has to "win" as quickly as possible, is to make him aware that plans are being made to slowly bleed his forces.  He could light off a couple of 1-5KT devices on cities that are vital to NATO resupply efforts, and in the chaos and confusion following that, surge his forces to grab as much territory as possible before halting and offering to negotiate in earnest.

The day we see another one of those abominations detonated, will be the beginning of the global end-game, imo.

Still boggles me why they would openly state this stuff, its like they are trying to antagonize the situation further.

There's a difference here , Russia has already invaded Ukraine. Now lets imagine that the West has already invaded Cuba or Venezuela , then Russia supplied or sold them some weapons.

Talks's cheap and they got nuthin' to lose. They've inflicted the nightmare on themselves they invaded Ukraine over i.e. the whole world turned against them.

Hi Occult

Can you show that the Ukraine has made an attack on Russian soil? If not what are you babbling about?

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-60952125

An oil storage depot was set on fire in a Russian city just north of Ukraine after what Russia described as an attack by two Ukrainian helicopters.

A video shared on Twitter showed a blaze near apartment blocks in Belgorod, 40km (25 miles) from the border.

Some clips appeared to show rockets hitting the oil depot.

Ukraine's top security official, however, denied Ukrainian forces were behind the attack.

"For some reason, they are saying we are behind it. This does not correspond to reality," security council secretary Oleksiy Danilov said.

Ukrainian aircraft have not struck targets in Russia previously.

Yet Belgorod governor Vyacheslav Gladkov accused Ukraine of launching the attack, and later Russian defence ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov gave details.

He said that at around 05:00 Moscow time (02:00 GMT) two Ukrainian Mi-24 helicopters entered Russian airspace at extremely low altitude and "launched a missile attack on a civilian oil storage facility" on the outskirts of Belgorod. Some storage tanks were damaged and caught fire, he said.

"The oil storage facility has nothing to do with the Russian armed forces," he said.

Lol. Good one! Yeah I was thinking about that game the other day when I was reading this thread. Probably because of all the nuke talk. I bet there are other members here thinking similar thoughts that have played that game. Hell, there's even a member here  @The Silver Shroud (BTW great idea for a user name, dude) using a cool character name from that game. He's posted in this very thread more than once. I still play that game from time to time. Great game from Bethesda.

We haven't invaded either and so haven't pushed them to the extreme, not to mention given them the right to attack us, as Russia has so done with Ukraine.

Ukrainian soldiers on hard-hit eastern front struggle to keep up morale

Servicemen lament military’s heavy losses and Moscow’s ‘psychological warfare’ as they battle back amid heavy shelling

BARVINKOVE, Ukraine (AFP) — In the chaos of the battle for Barvinkove on Ukraine’s eastern front, the country’s best-known singer, Sviatoslav Vakarchuk, appears in jeans and a bulletproof vest.

[...]

The soldiers who spoke with AFP acknowledged that losses have been high during the battle for the Donbas, although the local military administration refused to provide a figure.

https://www.timesofisrael.com/ukrainian-soldiers-on-hard-hit-eastern-front-struggle-to-keep-up-morale/

There are reports that Ukrainian fighters are struggling with low morale in the east. The Russian offensive is starting to become too difficult to contain.

Ukrainian Forces Preparing For 'potential Russian Attack From South' In Zaporizhzhia: UK

''The UK Defence Ministry stated that Russian forces have started making efforts to surround the heavily fortified positions of Ukrainian troops in east Ukraine.''

https://www.republicworld.com/world-news/russia-ukraine-crisis/ukrainian-forces-preparing-for-potential-russian-attack-from-south-in-zaporizhzhia-uk-articleshow.html

Ukrainian positions will soon be encircled in the east.  Seems the West will have no choice but to become directly involved at some point.

As North Korea has learned, nukes have the most power as a threat.

In a world armed with nukes, the second you let one fly you lose everything.

Rand Paul Says Biden Pushed Putin Into Attacking 'Soviet Union' Countries

Senator Rand Paul accused the Biden administration on Tuesday of pushing Russian President Vladimir Putin into attacking "Soviet Union" country Ukraine by advocating for its admission into NATO.

[...]

"There is no justification for the invasion, I'm not saying that. But there are reasons for the invasion," said Paul, who has long advocated for a more isolationist foreign policy. "In fact, had Ukraine been in NATO, as you've advocated for, and many others have advocated for, we would now have troops in Ukraine."

During the tense exchange, Paul also pointed to Ukraine and Georgia — another country Russia invaded in 2008 — as previously being part of the Soviet Union as a "reason" for the invasion.

Since Sweden and Finland are going to join NATO soon, they should submit their request to join NATO on May 9.  Would be extremely petty but a good way to stick it to Putin too.

Both have agreed to submit their request together.

Literally who cares?
This is a country who already attacked Kyiv saying "Please stop embarrassing us and beating the **** out of our military or we will do that thing we did before and failed at."

Part of Russians problem is very much that they keep saying things that make them and people supporting them look, quite frankly pathetic.

As for attacking Russia, ya if you hit me... I get to hit you back, that's how war works.. if your not ready for that, maybe... don't invade another country. Again makes Russia sound pathetic.

Target for what?
Military attack?
You think Russia can take even a slight increase in military pressure that would come from Germany's response?
Again if Russia doesn't like being attacked in response to attacking Ukraine.. They can just.. go home...
