I think Putler over estimated his military's capability.

I bet he is wishing to roll back to 2013.

Lets imagine for a moment, US refuse lend-lease for Brits and USSR. Brits may survive, USSR - dead on the spot. Period.

And if it wasn't for the Brits with their Arctic convoys .....   We died for Russia.  And these are the thanks we get :(

Apparently the lady who will be PM doesn't like Putler, is Pro NATO and Pro EU just wants to reform it.

It's a coalition of right-wing parties, some with historically friendly  ties to Putin. Officials in Moscow are probably very happy with the results.

Right wing party doesn't mean being putler $uckers, we (Liths) have conservatives in power, staunch anti putlers.

Edit to add: some socialist smegheads went to occupied Ukrainian territories to "watch" over "referendums". I'd strip them of Lithuanian citizenship, and send them to russky land they adore....

Matteo Salvini' League and Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia are downright friendly to the Kremlin. They are part of the right-wing coalition. That's just a fact. I can't see how Russia wouldn't be pleased with that change.

Nothing says "enough armaments" when anti-aircraft missiles (S300) being used to pound ground targets, or T-62 tanks thrown into battle, or conscripting 63 year olds...

I hope you are correct.  I think we can agree that his sham referenda will precede the annexation of those 4 regions and at that point he HAS TO follow through with the threats or be shown to be a loser in front of his country.  He has painted all of us into a dangerous corner.

I'll be amazed if he doesn't find a way to escalate the war once those regions become "Russian".

It's going to be expensive to flee russia, it already is,

I saw a mention yesterday of plane tickets costing 16 thousand US dollars.  At that price, not many will be leaving by air.

And this is the key to why Ukraine will win out.  I keep stressing this and will again;

Conflicts are not about killing, they are about convincing the opposition not to fight.  We are seeing this in action.  Russians not wanting to go to Ukraine, Soldiers deserting.  The better the option of surrender is to the opposition the more likely they are to surrender, but the real trick is getting them to stay surrendered.  Zelensky knows what he is doing.

On the flip side, every atrocity committed by Russia, convinces a thousand Ukrainians to fight to the death, because the alternative is worse… Putin and his commanders have zero clue in this.

If it wasn’t so tragic it would comedy.  Python could have made this whole conflict comedy gold.

Putin is offering citizenship to any foreign fighters who complete one year of service in his army. Here's two guys we can ship out right away.

I'd love to see this priest on frontlines... See him against 155 round...

Lost a good friend to a 155 round that was fashioned as an IED. There was hardly anything left of him or his gunner.

Because there is a high probability he's not bluffing on this one.

Ukraine war: US says it takes Putin nuclear threat seriously

So pootie was just bluffing all the other times he threatened nukes? Good to know. Fark him. Call his bluff. I highly doubt his oligarchs will let him call a strike when all the filthy lucre they've accumulated will be for naught. Can't spend if you're dead. Play nice or there will never be a shortage of parking spaces in Russia.

Are you short of cash, Occult? I'm sure we could all pitch in to get you a one way ticket to Moscow. Tickets are pretty cheap, I hear.

One of those red lines crossed probably lead to the 'Special Military Operation'. We know Russia will respond to what they perceived as threats.

But the U.S./NATO have been careful not to push Russia too far. Providing HIMARS to Ukraine was provocative but they denied them the longer-range missiles.

For now. If pootie launches a pocket nuke, all bets will be off, and Ukraine will be launching at moscow complements of the US.

We all support Ukraine's right to defend themselves. But some of us don't support our Western leaders participating in this war, to the point of risking nuclear warfare.

Again, we? Us?

Salvini has claimed that sanctions are hurting Italy too.  That doesn't mean he's pro Russian invasion.  Berlusconi has so much plastic in his head he's brain is turning into a bunga bunga doll and he doesn't know what he's talking about most days.  Anyway Meloni commands the coalition and has previously claimed to be pro Ukraine.

Then again, they're right wing so you have to take their claims with a grain of salt.........

Very sorry to hear that my friend I understand how painful that kind of loss can be. It appears some of these people don’t think before they comment.
