It is for Russia. They have signed the decree. They will defend their country with all their military capabilities. It doesn't matter what we think. It won't change the facts.

Soooo....   They haven't been using their military capablities so far?

That would explain the losing.

Another thing i forgot to mention in the thread, it came up on my Twitter feed that apparently the ruskies have been moving troops from the border with NATO to Ukraine.

1.) APPARENTLY, doesn't mean it may be true

2.) If true, they're struggling with manpower

3.) LOL

They might have captured a fair bit of Russian equipment but they still need constant supplies of ammunition or they will quickly run out and become useless. Someone still need to provide it all for them.

And that's where the Russians come in.

I Spartan Max hereby annex Donbas.

I hereby annex Russia and have decided to pull out of Ukraine.

Any Russians you therefore find fighting in Ukraine are therefore not part of any nations military and are clearly terrorists.

See how this game goes @Occult1?

So since you made that proclaimation, if NATO were to help clear the terrorists would Russia intervene? :innocent:

Russia vetoes UN resolution calling its referendums illegal

''UNITED NATIONS (AP) — Russia vetoed a U.N. resolution Friday that would have condemned its referendums in four Ukrainian regions as illegal, declared them invalid and urged all countries not to recognize any annexation of the territory claimed by Moscow.

The vote in the 15-member Security Council was 10-1 with China, India, Brazil and Gabon abstaining.

The resolution would also have demanded an immediate halt to Russia’s “full-scale unlawful invasion of Ukraine” and the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of all its military forces from Ukraine.''

China, India and Brazil have abstained. Seems not everyone at the U.N. is against Russia.

Putin slams 'imperialist' West, says it fears Russia

''MOSCOW, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday vowed to defend Russia's "homeland and values" in a defiant speech from the Kremlin in which he announced Russia was annexing four regions from Ukraine and said the West feared Russian culture.

Presenting a long list of grievances against the West, Putin accused the United States and its allies of waging a "hybrid war" against Russia and the separatist administrations it backed in eastern Ukraine.''

Ukraine cannot repay it's outstanding loans and bonds. They are paying with their sovereignty, by subjecting themselves to the influence of foreign interests.

Yeah, they'll get their money back (and more) after Putin is booted from the throne, Russia is booted from Ukraine and they're forced by the ICJ to pay retributions for the war and war crimes they committed.  Russia will be broke for decades and, without wealth, they will never be a military superpower they were estimated to be, ever again.

This is what happens when authoritarianism tries to expand it's power outside it's borders and there may well be territorial consequences.  Look at Germany, Japan and Italy, all three lost territory after their defeat in WW2.  So watch out Russians, China is observing the outcome of this war with interest.

How would you implement regime change in Russia? This stragegy hasn't exactly worked very well for the U.S. in the last few decades.

The West is not imperialist lmao, what a bunch of projection.

Well, upon further reflection I guess they have demonstrated certain behaviours that are somewhat imperialistic, but that is more of a “whataboutism” on Russia’s end, and they are very clearly displaying imperialism - or perhaps colonialism is more apt, I.e. when Crimea was annexed Russia implemented their currency in place of Ukraine’s etc. I reckon they’ll try to do the same thing here.

It won't be implemented by the west. Are you really that oblivious to what's happening in Russia?  They have no will to fight.  Morally they know they are fighting against an army of soldiers who are ready to put their bodies on the line and with NATO's help they can match their equipment.

Putin looks a lonely man at the top but he still has a power grip.  It won't last, you can see it crumbling away day by day.  Once he goes, Russia will go either way IMO.  Another little subservient Putin will take over and run with what he started, which will make it worse for Russia because he won't have the same grip Vlad had on the establishment or they'll submit to defeat and withdraw to save their economy from total disaster.  Either way the end will come with a big thud.

Why Vladimir Putin still has widespread support in Russia

''In fact, Russian public opinion polls have suggested an increase in Putin’s popularity after the invasion. Support for the war itself is not as high as Putin’s overall approval rating — but he can still count on majority support for the invasion. ''

Why Russian Support for the War in Ukraine Hasn't Wavered

https://time.com/6208238/why-russian-support-for-the-war-in-ukraine-hasnt-wavered/

Where do you see Putin's support ''crumbling away'' day by day ? In fact, all the evidence suggest the contrary. His popularity and support has increased in Russia.

The more the West tries to apply pressure and 'isolate' Russia, the more Russians seem to rally around Putin.
