That's exactly what russia does - burns their own. That's why they lost the war. Also, quality matters, often more than quantity.

russia already wasted their "elite" units.

It was a joke, Cookie. Implies you're russian. Didn't you hear Ukraine is making fun of russia, calling all the equipment they captured "russian lend-lease"?

Ah yes, Russia has donated more vehicles to Ukraine than NATO has.

Why aren`t those incompetent fools at least destroying their stuff if they need to retreat? Wait, ah, it`s one of their famous goodwill gestures lol.

Ukranian forces are advancing towards Svatove in Luhansk oblast.  Svatove is one of two critical rail junctions in Luhansk oblast, the other being Starobilsk.  It seems from reports there are no serious defensive positions made in Luhansk oblast allowing the Ukranian military to advance rapidly.

If Russia loses both they will essentially have to abandon most of Luhansk oblast and essentially go back to the 2014 Luhansk People's Republic border.

Not to mention the logistics behind moblizing such a force is massive. You need to feed them, arm them, fuel for transport, this is a forcve larger than whats in Ukraine atm. Not gonna work.

It will work, it just takes months to plan and put in place.

By then Russia will be huddled around the entrance to Crimea to stop Ukraine getting in. I predict the whole of Eastern Ukraine will be liberated by spring next year.

I think the Russian problem is a lack of men, they have spread so thin its quite literally one thin line of defence.

I honestly think Kherson will be  the next "goodwill gesture" reports are coming out of yet another breakthrough, plus russian generals wanted to pull out ages ago due to losses but Putler said no.

Russia says its forces destroy seven artillery depots in Ukraine

''MOSCOW, Oct 2 (Reuters) - Russia's Defence Ministry said on Sunday its forces had destroyed seven artillery and missile depots in the Ukrainian regions of Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv and Donetsk.

It said the guidance radar for a S-300 air defence missile system had also been destroyed near Nova Kaluha in the Kherson region of southern Ukraine.''

This is what "artillery depot" looks like.

Do your conscience a favour and stop trying to help putin's russians, who commit war crimes as a part of their doctrine.

But they're already sending them to the front line, they've messed it up completly almost as if they're panicking.

Some will be on their way yes, to plug gaps.

They`ll train the rest, their version of 6 weeks basic training and 6 weeks role training. We also shouldn`t laugh at the Russian massacre going on, as that may lead to nukes.

The best outcome is the war over by Xmas, total loss for Russia, and no nukes used. I sincerely want this out of pure selfishness. That Putin retard is impacting my shares.

I will say though if Ukraine somehow win it will be funny how a rag tag army defeated the worlds 2nd military power.

Some of it is down to NATO weapons but the level of Russian incompetence going on suggests a low IQ level amongst its generals. Maybe Putin fell for the mistake of having favourites?

Or if russia in the 2nd military power, the rest of the worlds militaries are ****e. Just because its one of the largest and they have the largest nuclear arsenal, it doesnt put them 2nd. They could've been but they put too much money in nukes and other missiles. The standard of the troops is appauling, I didn't think they;d be this bad and I'm trying not to be bias.

Not low IQ, it's just what happens in an authoritarian system. Officals lie to their dictator because the dictator can't deal with negative news. So then everyone has a warped view of their power.

You can see the same thing happen at a smaller scale in some offices or corporations. If the people on top can't deal with bad news than their middle management will lie to them out of necessity.

Until your next ex-communication event. I hope you got the message you naughty boy!!!

Russia needs a good 3 months to get its conscripts and reservists trained to a capable level, equipped, to plan their use and strategy, and to put in place the logistics to support them. I therefore think they will fight a defensive war up until next spring when they will again go on the offensive. In the meantime, there will be a contraction of the annexed territories. They may also rush a few 10s of thousands of cannon fodder to prop up their line in any gaps that appear.

I`m confused as to why Russia isn`t using its air force properly. It has a large bomber fleet so one would think they would thin out the Ukraine lines using carpet bombing and cluster bombs. They have fuel bombs too which suffocate those in a wide radius. I suspect there is a hidden problem there. Maybe they don`t want to use their air force because when maintenance is needed then its dependent on sanctioned parts. Like replacement turbine blades for engines which have to be made from very strong and expensive alloys.

One would presume chemical and biological weapons (CBWs) would be used before nuclear warheads. CBWs don`t have to be fatal, they just have to incapacitate for a few days. Long enough for a Russian attack to meet poor resistance. Far more viable that tactical nukes, although probably more expensive.

Russia seems to be bad at psychological warfare. One doesn`t have to torture POWs to terrify the opponent's soldiers, they just need to think it`s going on and is widespread. I would suggest creating a fake campaign inside Russia trying to safeguard the rights of POWs. Put it on Russia TV so the west sees it claiming 1000s of incidents. Such a strategy can be used to provoke Ukraine into committing real war crimes back, and that would make Russians fight harder and stop them surrendering. The fake crimes need to be barbaric such as how they sawed my leg off to make me talk.

Hi Cookie

They don’t have 3 months to train people as they are in big trouble right now. They are not training to fight but are training to torture and in all probability it will be civilians and not military personnel that they will torture. They know they can’t win so they will just abuse everyday people to instill fear and resentment.

Putin is intelligent (he has a PHD) and doesn`t seem to be emotionally volatile (suggesting he doesn`t have a delicate ego).

I have just checked global average IQ levels and Ukraine is actually quite low (90) and Russia more like the developed world (96). So, the problem isn`t a nation of dummies. So, what is going on?

Why have they been playing chess on the battlefield? Rather than lightening war?

Is the problem that they maintained a large army of old equipment?

Rather than modernise?

A news report over the weekend mentioned an interesting fact, the US has provided more money in six months than Russia spends on its entire military in twelve.

That is a battle Russia will not win.

Then there is funds from others on top.

I also noticed that when Ukraine entered an area supposedly now Russian, after the vote, Russia said their territorial map had yet to be finalised.

Entering their new territory could be a red line for Nukes, but no, Russia found an excuse to ignore it.

I think this indicates the real chance of nukes being used by Russia.

I think they are coming too.

When the military cannot organise a pee-up in a brewery the only option left is to press the big red button.

I don't think he meant they would. Unless I misinterpreted what he said. I think he said russia basically keep giving more red lines. Ukraine cross them and Russia does jack ****.

You misunderstood.

Since russia just invented an excuse (they're still trying to determine where their border is) in order to be able to not protect "holy russia" with nukes, it is evident that russia will keep moving both their "red line" and their "border".

They're thieves and manipulators, they're not people willing to die for ideals.

They know they'll die in this war if they make it nuclear. As long as they don't do that, they can keep on believing they'll be able to stay in power and avoid consequences of their monumental screw-up. Which they won't be able to avoid, but that's their problem.
