Boris Becker could face jail for transferring hundreds of thousands of pounds from his business account after his bankruptcy.

The three-time Wimbledon champion, 54, has been found guilty of four charges under the Insolvency Act relating to his 2017 bankruptcy, following a trial at Southwark Crown Court.

He was acquitted of a further 20 counts on Friday.

The six-time grand slam winner was accused of hiding millions of pounds worth of assets, including two Wimbledon trophies, to avoid paying his debts.

This is what I call a legal system. He will go to prison in UK. And from what I've read...it's not going to be a four star hotel.

No, but he said it was the British legal system and frankly there are a collective of people in the UK that could film themselves sacrificing goats to Memnon and not get charged.
But they DO make sure to send the German to gaol.

Boris Becker could face deportation from UK, Home Office confirms

Boris Becker will be considered for deportation, the Home Office has confirmed, as experts said the potential battle could set a legal precedent and Becker may have to represent himself in court if he wants to remain in the UK.

Last week, the former tennis star was jailed for two years and six months for hiding millions of pounds’ worth of assets after being made bankrupt in June 2017. Becker, sentenced under the Insolvency Act, will serve half the full prison term.

A Home Office spokesperson said that while it did not routinely comment on individual cases, “any foreign national who is convicted of a crime and given a prison sentence is considered for deportation at the earliest opportunity”.

Boris Becker moved to prison for foreigners in sign he will be deported

Boris Becker has reportedly been transferred to a prison used to detain foreign criminals, indicating he will be deported from the UK at the end of his sentence.

According to the Times, Becker’s lawyer told journalists in Berlin that he had been transferred to HMP Huntercombe in Oxfordshire.

The German, 54, has lived in the UK since 2012 but is understood not to have British citizenship.

The latest inspection of HMP Huntercombe in 2017 found that of 197 men released from the prison, 185 had been deported immediately.
