I must admit that many years ago when reading Rev 22:2, this same metaphor struck me as a valid comparison. But, I saw the "water of life" more as the breaking of the woman's water just prior to giving birth, and the "leaves of the tree" were all the eggs that allowed mankind to repopulate after periods of death and destruction.

If by "fetish" you mean the focus on sex and the reproductive organs and process, I agree with you. It seems that along with genetics and this viewpoint, Base 12 wants to wedge this concept into as many passages as he can deem doable in his own mind. He certainly wouldn't be the first in history to focus on the reproductive process with respect to the supernatural or paranormal.

Having said that, I do believe that the bible (as well as other "scriptural" sources) can have hidden meanings that are more than what may be first perceived when reading, but it can be taken too far and much of the OP's considerations don't really have great merit in my humble opinion.

A little tact can go a long way when discussing such things, and I feel Base 12 has only hurt being taken seriously because of the insulting nature of his replies and contrived explanations.
