An American family set off a bomb scare at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport when they showed security officials an unexploded shell they had found while on holiday, authorities said.

Video circulated on social media showing panicked passengers running in the departure hall.

The Jewish Press reported that during the family's trip one of the children had found the unexploded shell while visiting the Golan Heights and had packed it to take home as a souvenir.

When they showed it to security staff as they checked-in their luggage, officials immediately called for an evacuation of the area, the newspaper reported.

Tourist................

Yup, and something tells me they were probably big into the whole "selfie" trend.  They were very lucky they didn't get to spend a few days with the officials at the airport.
