'UFO crash' on uninhabited island found on Google Maps

A TikTok user discovered a strange-looking object on an uninhabited island in the Pacific Ocean - and suspects it may be a UFO.

In a video, viewed by over 700,000 people, TikTok user Googlemapsfun zoomed in on an object on Starbuck Island, Kiribati where a round metal-like object is washed up on the beaches of the island.

The object looks like a discolored metal scrap in an oblong shape. A sand trail leading up to the object makes it appear as though the object rolled around the island before settling where it now is.

It must be an alien spaceship because obviously it couldn't be anything else. 

And there is NO evidence of any alien spacecraft visiting Earth in the past 200,000 years that has not crashed ...


Shame they never crash in New York or London though..

Well it appears the Unexplained Mystery has been solved!
 

The reason Real Answer:  While the jokes may have been funny and the video was slightly mysterious, the answer was less than thrilling. In 2009, National Geographic published two YouTube videos about Dr. Enric Sala and “members of the Ocean Now team becoming stranded on Starbuck Island during an on-shore excursion.” At the 0:36 mark in the video, old dwellings are visible near the beach, explaining the Google Earth mystery. One of the camera angles seen in the video can be compared to a satellite picture to confirm that it does, indeed, show the dwellings.
