Army considers letting soldiers change bases if they don't like local laws on gender, racism,.....

This will lead to zero discipline and young recruits defying their drill instructors and gaining authority over them, and their base command whenever they FEEL they need a change of venue. If the top brass doesn't comply to their snowflake wishes, the lawsuits will fly.  This is a travesty.

The US Army is proposing a policy that would allow soldiers to request a move if they do not like the local laws on gender, racism(?), or abortion.

Is there a single state today that discriminates based on race?

It was just last year the US Army released a recruitment ad targeting gays and kids of gays.

This is the same US Army that just lost a war to 10th Century barbarians and left them $80 billion in US weapons.

Military.com reported:

The Army is circulating a draft policy tweak that would specify that soldiers can request to move if they feel state or local laws discriminate against them based on gender, sex, religion, race or pregnancy, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the plans.

The guidance, which would update a vague service policy to add specific language on discrimination, is far from final and would need approval from Army Secretary Christine Wormuth. But if enacted, it could be one of the most progressive policies for the force amid a growing wave of local anti-LGBTQ and restrictive contraception laws in conservative-leaning states, where the Army does most of its business.

The policy would ostensibly sanction soldiers to declare that certain states are too racist, too homophobic, too sexist or otherwise discriminatory to be able to live there safely and comfortably.

Your starting statement is based on ignorance.  Drill instructors are only while you are in training and this is about permanent duty, not training.

And since the U.S. Army is voluntary, not required like other countries, if they want to offer this option, so what?  It has nothing to do with deployment over seas so fix your panties and find something else to rant about.

It's still a ludicrous idea. Will Christian soldiers be afforded the same opportunity?

No Christian should be in the army at all, if their beliefs are so valuable to them. You know, the whole “thou shall not murder” and “love they neighbour” commandments business…

No, look at the link you posted.    Did you go to military.com?  I can tell that you didn't, and you should have.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/05/woke-army-considers-letting-soldiers-change-base-state-dont-like-local-laws-gender-racism-abortion/

The source story on military.com is not as inflamatory as your gateway pundit.   And it is in discussion, not decided.  And there will be required more than one source to justify the request.   Any single soldier living in the barracks cannot justify this kind of request, only soldiers living off base with family.  It is not new, just that they are considering making more clear changes to the requirements and language of the compasssionate reassignment directives.  There will be no breaking or changing of Army Regulations.

https://www.military.com/daily-news/2022/05/19/soldiers-facing-discrimination-state-laws-could-request-transfers-under-draft-army-policy.html"

If finalized, the new rules would clarify what situations would entitle a soldier to a so-called compassionate reassignment. Right now, those rules are vague but are mostly used for soldiers going through family problems that cannot be solved through "leave, correspondence, power of attorney, or help of family members or other parties," according to Army regulations."

So, @Macho MAGA Man what makes you think you fit in on an unexplained mysteries forum?   Are you trying to convert people to your religion or are you here to troll those who don't agree with you?  If you want discussion you need to find better source links and a better understanding of the subject before you create a thread about it.

Thou shall not kill is a commandment against wrongful killing (murder). Christians are not forbidden from using lethal force, only from doing so wrongly.

The words are clear so the justification is yours, not "God's"   Thou shall not kill.   Period.   Justify all you want but it makes your professions of your faith weak.

There are already reasons for compassionate reassignment.  They are just adding more reasons.  And it's never a guarantee, it's something that must be reviewed.  Oh, and abortion laws is not part of it...so that's the far right part of the Gateway Pundit showing through.

Obviously this is the wrong place for a Biblical discussion so I’ll just say this. The Bible is quite clear about what constitutes murder and when killing is permissible. Exodus 22:2 States that if a thief breaks into your home and you kill them in self defense, you are not guilty of murder (at least during the night time). The Bible also lists many “crimes” that justify killing the offender. Obviously times have changed a bit in the past 2,000 years….  Also, the many military conquests of the Israelites where they killed every man woman child cow and donkey might be a tiny clue that the commandment is not exactly “thou shall not kill. period”.

Im not “professing a faith” just relating what a text actually says. Have a nice day,

No, the words are not as clear as you’d like to believe. The original wording for that Commandment was “Thou shall not MURDER”. Self defense was and is justified.

I believe the Air Force started this.   I think career military personnel may  move bases every few years  over their enlistment.  They are professionals, have specializations and sometimes even families. They go where there is an opening for their specialization, there may be several choices.  The service member may not be choosing for themselves, but they may have a son or a daughter  who  doesn't quite fit the standardized expectation.  The Army doesn't want its officers to be distracted from their duties by worrying about their kid in the local school, so they offer a transfer.

One reason for the military to do this is readiness. They want specializations filled at a base by competent, dedicated officers who can focus on their job,  if somebody needs a transfer, it gets filled by somebody else who wants to take their place.
