Still Waters Posted June 18, 2022 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2022 (IP: Staff) · Some asylum claimants who arrived in the UK in small boats or in the back of lorries could be electronically tagged under a new Home Office trial. A 12-month trial could apply to adults due to be removed from the UK after arriving via what the government calls "dangerous or unnecessary" routes. Boris Johnson said it was important to "make sure asylum seekers can't just vanish into the rest of the country". Critics say the plan treats those fleeing persecution as criminals. The Home Office said the trial, which began on Thursday in England and Wales, would test whether tagging helps maintain regular contact with asylum claimants and progresses their claims more effectively. It will also collect data on how many people abscond from immigration bail. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-61849433 1 Top

ethereal_scout Posted June 18, 2022 #3 Share Posted June 18, 2022 Still can't work out where they'd get their food and money from if they were to "vanish". 1 Top

Myles Posted June 18, 2022 #6 Share Posted June 18, 2022 I'm a bit torn on this. It seems like a bad precedent to start. however it they make it part of their laws that migrants must be tracked for a period of time when they enter the country, then it is what it is. 1 Top
Autochthon1990 Posted June 18, 2022 #7 Share Posted June 18, 2022 "Alright so brexit was an unfathomably stupid idea, we completely botched the pandemic only slightly less horrible then that racist pumpkin across the pond, and I'm about ready to be forced out due to an illegal party, but on the plus side, we're lojacking brown people! Wait what do you mean most voters think that's bad? They're not going to be happy to find out about the Rollerball Arena then..."

jmccr8 Posted June 18, 2022 #10 Share Posted June 18, 2022 Are the trackers implants and would they be removed at some point especially if they become citizens or are sent out of the country?

Cool, so you'd be fine wearing an ear tag to make sure that you're not publicly urinating?

As should the people already in the country. Let’s tag everyone. HELL … let’s make it a mark on the hand or the head without which no trade shall be done, shall we!
