This is normal in the UK. Even alot of the people are like it. Ignorance is rife sadly.

Both personalities are cringe worthy lmao.

The EU does not dictate to Britain its internal trade arrangements. We decide what we do, to our benefit. If the EU doesnt like it then it can go swivel. If they throw a wobbly over it then lets just remind them who has been moving its military assets to defend Poland and the Baltics.

Once they know their place they will quickly surrender. France will surrender first without much of a fight (they always do!) and will veto any proposed penalties on Britain.

(most of) Ireland…. Is not internal to the UK.

There was a bill to be put through parliament last year to overrule aspects of the protocol, that interfered with the UK single market with claims of breaking international law, but it was dropped in favor of the prospects of a more reasonable approach by brussels.

That has not happened.

So another bill is brought forward and suddenly Brussels has suggested they will now look at things like red, green channels for goods through customs into NI and the republic.

That would not have come about by waiting for the EU to appreciate the UK single market and the trade situation.

Also the US have now apparently decided to effectively stay out of the issue and have said the UK bill will not affect UK/US trade talks.

I would now expect a further shift by Brussels toward the UK position.

Not because they are reasonable and have a balanced view on the issue but because they are forced by the UK doing its own thing and the EU losing all control of the situation.

They will always want some control rather than non. ;)

As far as Peston is concerned if you ask a daft question you can expect a similar answer.

The bloke moved into the tinfoil hat wearing brigade some time ago.

The EU think all of Ireland is external to the UK.

The responsibility of the UK Government is looking after the people and businesses of the UK.

The EU does not dictate to us our internal structure or trade arrangements. If they aren`t working we should change them. If the EU wants to kick up a fuss about it then we have four very good ways of putting them in their place:

1. Bring home our boys and equipment from the Baltics and Poland.

2. Retract the fishing rights given to France.

3. The EU cannot force us to violate the Good Friday Agreement, but it can force Ireland too. If it does then we should hold Ireland in violation of the agreement and annex Northern Ireland proper.

4. Deny access to Brent Crude oil barrels at a time when EU households are paying a fortune for petrol.

The UK are in the position of power not the EU, so whats it going to do about it? No doubt France will cry the most (as usual) before quickly surrendering (again as usual LMAO). The only two things possible are sanctions and war. It seems an extreme ludicrous outcome but lets go with it and look at both unlikely scenarios:

Financial and Banking Sector Sanctions: Bearing in mind London is the centre of the financial world then that would cause severe economic problems across the EU. Worse than their sanctions of Russian oil. I would also say, should it happen, we should treat it as a declaration of war (see below).

Declaration of War: I propose we help ourselves to Ireland and Norway as `compensation`. Thats our food imports secure. Taking Norway is important to help ourselves to all of the North Sea Oil during a time when petrol is very expensive in the EU. Then when they peace out we should look at the entire cost to the UK, apply a 1000% mark up, and demand it as war damages. No money, no freedom for Ireland and Norway LMAO.
