They're the same. In order to create you need to destroy. Transforming one thing into another.

Like eating. You destroy a plant or animal, and transform their tissues, proteins, and molecules into something to build up tissues in your body.

And He is a jealous god. If there are no other gods, then what is there to be jealous about?

Except that He doesn’t claim there are no other gods, He just says NOT to have any “before” Him. Even the Bible suggests other peoples and countries have their own gods. So apparently God is afraid of having His position usurped.

Which in turn creates waste than can feed plant life.

I was giving my free version of something written in the Nag Hammadi scriptures (Yaldabaoth). This topic concerns Gnosticism.

Ok, but Gnosticism doesn’t have sole say in whether or not there are other gods or what was believed about God, particularly as the Nag Hammadi scriptures were written AFTER the Bible.

No, they don't have a sole say; they just represent the 'other say'.

Another say that had to be killed off. Literally.

I consider the early socalled 'gnostics' much closer to the fire than we are now.

Religious Faith of the Biblical kind, here in the modern world, requires a measure of blind ignorance or, at least, turning a blind eye to factual data that conflicts with said beliefs. The same holds true for the other Abrahamic religions and other world Faiths.

this jealous god

Everyone who knows the God that's real knows that God is not a jealous God. :tu:

There's nothing man can do to benefit a god. There's plenty a god's worshippers can do to benefit the priesthood of a god, hence the impetus to keep worship of Yahweh, any godly worship, exclusive to him only.

There's no way they can know anything, but they can believe whatever they like.

Deuteronomy 6:

12 Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

13 Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

14 Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;

15 (For the Lord thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

God is an idea.

You have got a lot of ideas, but you always fail to see whether your ideas have corresponding realities in life outside ideas in your mind.

Here I go again, the fact is that existence is not just an idea, it is reality - that you Xeno exist is not just an idea in your mind, if you don't accept that, then bang your face against a concrete wall and get the evidence that you exist.

Now, here I go again: Your transient existence implicates the existence of God, which explains everything that is not God but created by God.

I am an idea. A concept of a person, with a name, a life, thoughts and feelings. Yet to everyone who knows me I am an idea. They hold but a sliver of who I am. Their idea of me and who I am is not who I really am. It is just an idea.

No one who knows the God that's real knows it because of anything they've read in a book. :P

Which makes the UB completely meaningless to the discussion. Congratulations on invalidating your own oft-quoted source.

Anyone who knows the God that's real knows it because of other things besides reading things in books.

Boy it's taking you a long time to catch on.

Being an academic and studying religious writings doesn't have anything to do with knowing the God that's real and you are definitely a shining example of it.

Thank you for your service

Catch on to what, that you’ve effectively admitted to lying about God when quoting the UB as if it was a valid source? One you yourself just invalidated? You are your own worst enemy. If there’s a god you’ve shown that YOU know nothing about said deity. Congratulations!
