Acts 1:8

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Welcome to the forums. :)

Unfortunately we must ask that thread openers contain more than just quotes or links to Bible verses - there needs to be a clear point of discussion.

Can you elaborate for us on what you'd like to discuss ?

Thank you.

Tell us more to frame your thread, please.

Even out here in the wilds, most of the doves I see are "pigeons," more often seen in cities looking after humanity, occasionaly marking some of us from on high, or blessing our chariots. They used to be called "blue rock doves," but that created a public relations problem when the human PTB decided to try to poision them off. (Judge for yourself how well that project went ... maybe there's something divine in that).

As long as it made you feel good, just make sure you watch what's in front when driving, if it distracts you it may not be holy.

When it comes upon one it usually, but not always results in the individual wanting more.

Also such individuals act like they have special knowledge that they wind up falling short in demonstrating it to the non-inflicted.

It’s a colloquialism used to mean “please repeat yourself but provide more information and/or clarity”.

You can believe whatever you like, as long as it makes your life better it's a good thing. I chose to be spiritual but not religious as I don't like to follow others just to fit in. Plus I think the bible is just an opinion of a small group and doesn't make sense to me.

There’s a old saying here in the USA: “You’re putting the cart before the horse.”

Belief in Jesus is the prerequisite to the appearance of the Holy Spirit. For a better understanding of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, I suggest you read the four Gospels and the Book of Acts. As the verse below implies, there is a profound change in a person who encounters the Holy Spirit:

“…but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.” Acts 1:8

How do you know it was the Christian Holy Spirit and not something else? There are other deity associations with doves- most notably Inanna-Ishtar, Athena, and Aphrodite, though there are others. Doves also have other folklore and metaphysical associations, like some folklores of doves being peaceful escorts to the afterlife, or lore of doves being messengers. Some lore have it as an association with the Tree of Life, others have it as a spirit guide or totem.

I don't know  it's Christian Holy Spirit

I would only see a golden or yellow dove

Acts 2:3-4

King James Version

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Asherah, the Abrahamic God's wife/feminine aspect, whose sacred bird was the dove was remade into the Holy Spirit by chauvinist pigs.
