Doctor who lied about his age given three years for negligent manslaughter

A doctor who killed a mother-of-three after botching a procedure during a routine hospital appointment to take samples has been jailed for three years.

Dr Isyaka Mamman, 85, had already been suspended for lying about his age and colleagues thought he should be retired after botching similar procedures before the fatal incident.

The Nigerian-born medic, aged 81 at the time, carried out the "highly dangerous" procedure using the wrong needle and inserted it in the wrong place, piercing the heart sac of Shahida Parveen, who had gone to the Royal Oldham Hospital to give a bone marrow sample.

So will the NHS manager who employed this chancer be held to account?  Rhetorical question, we all know the answer, it's the NHS for christ sake.

A woman gave her dying husband CPR in the back of an ambulance as a member of the crew stood back and did nothing.

The ambulance technician offered the lady no assistance in performing the potentially life-saving procedure as she battled to try and save her dying partner.

A trainee surgeon has been suspended for eight months after he left a patient with “catastrophic” injuries by drilling too deep into her ear and then trying to “cover up” his mistakes, a tribunal has heard.

Dr Amir Farboud left the woman with “life-changing” injuries after he continued to drill into “the wrong place”.

A misconduct hearing of the Medical Practitioner’s Tribunal Service heard he later lied to other doctors about what he had done, so by the time the disastrous effects were realised it was too late.

You and me both! Quite a harsh punishment for a little lie, to give to a fictional character. I had to know how that could make sense in any way, so here I am.
