Conservative leadership candidates have come out swinging with pledges to slash taxes and plough on with controversial Brexit plans as a new contender joined the fray.

International trade minister Penny Mordaunt announced on Sunday morning that she will run for the top job, saying the UK’s leadership “needs to become a little less about the leader and a lot more about the ship”.

The current issue is high inflation.

Inflation is cut by reducing demand, or sorting out the drivers causing it. On top of that there is the cost of living issue to resolve. A tax cut on its own will increase demand and make the problem worse. Tax increases will reduce inflation but make the cost of living harder. And they wont lift sanctions on Russia. Its a loose-loose situation.

I propose put taxes up, suspend the foreign aid budget, and using the £14 billion as pay-outs to help low income households.

Sunak has told lies when he was Chancellor , so maybe M.P.'s will recognise him for what he is , and drop voting for him ,you have to be Squeaky clean to be P.M. as your past catches up with you .

So did Truss, they both supported and lied on the behalf of Boris Johnson throughout his tenure.

In fact Mordaunt has also been accused of lying about various things.

The winner will likely be based on their likelihood to win the next General Election and how popular they are with the Tory donors.

Boris was known for his dishonesty even before he became Prime Minister but he ended up winning the vote anyway.

It will be interesting when we find out who gets the job , which ever way it goes , as long as the other side is kept out,  as we don't need Blair or Corbyn voicing their opinions .
